Adult hippocampal neurogenesis (AHN) is closely related to plasticity, learning, memory and post-injury repair of the brain. In patients with neurodegenerative diseases, ability neural stem cells proliferate generate new neurons sharply decreased, AHN level significantly weakened, which not conducive brain function. As immune in nervous system, microglia play an important role generation integration neurons. There evidence that are critical regulation adult neurogenesis, different groups can perform functions. Therefore, link between provides a target for intervention diseases. This paper summarizes modulating effect on nerve ideas solving problems

Major depression disorder (MDD) is a neuropsychiatric characterized by abnormal neuronal activity in specific brain regions. A factor that crucial maintaining normal functioning intracellular pH (pHi) homeostasis. In this study, we show chronic stress, which induces depression-like behaviors animal models, down-regulates the expression of hippocampal Na+/H+ exchanger isoform 1, NHE1, major determinant pHi neurons. Knockdown NHE1 CA1 pyramidal neurons leads to acidification, promotes dendritic spine loss, lowers excitatory synaptic transmission, and enhances susceptibility stress exposure rats. Moreover, E3 ubiquitin ligase cullin4A may promote ubiquitination degradation induce these effects an unbalanced on processes. Electrophysiological data further suggest excitability caused maladaptation neuroplasticity be involved pathogenesis disease. These findings elucidate mechanism for homeostasis alteration as related MDD.

Introduction Adolescent exposure to neurotoxic metals adversely impacts cognitive, motor, and behavioral development. Few studies have addressed the underlying brain mechanisms of these metal–associated developmental outcomes. Furthermore, metal occurs as a mixture, yet previous most often consider each individually. In this cross–sectional study, we investigated relationship between topological metrics in adolescents. Methods 193 participants (53% females, ages: 15–25 years) enrolled Public Health Impact Metals Exposure (PHIME) measured concentrations four (manganese, lead, copper, chromium) multiple biological media (blood, urine, hair, saliva) acquired resting–state functional magnetic resonance imaging scans. Using graph theory metrics, computed global local efficiency (global:GE; local:LE) 111 areas (Harvard Oxford Atlas). We used weighted quantile sum (WQS) regression models examine association mixtures metric (GE or LE), adjusted for sex age. Results observed significant negative associations mixture GE LE [βGE = −0.076, 95% CI (−0.122, −0.031); βLE= −0.051, (−0.095, −0.006)]. Lead chromium blood contributed GE, while hair LE. Discussion Our results suggest that during adolescence reduces integrating information networks at both levels, informing potential neural toxicity metals. further are due combined joint effects different metals, rather than single metal.

Abstract Introduction The barrier function of the gut is important for many organs and systems, including brain. If permeability increases, bacterial fragments may enter circulation, giving rise to increased systemic inflammation. Increases in translocation are reflected higher values blood markers, lipopolysaccharide binding protein (LBP) soluble cluster differentiation 14 (sCD14). Some pioneer studies showed a negative association between markers brain volumes, but this remains scarcely investigated. We investigate effect on volumes cognition both healthy controls patients with schizophrenia spectrum disorder (SSD).
