Since the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic in December 2019 and associated restrictions, mental health children adolescents has been increasingly discussed media. Negative impacts pandemic, including a sharp increase psychopathology and, consequently, reduced quality life, appear to have particularly affected young people, who may be especially vulnerable adverse effects isolation. Nevertheless, many managed cope well with without deterioration their health. The present study therefore explored links between infection (in oneself or family member, as death member due virus), protective factors such self-efficacy, resilience, self-esteem, health-related measures depression scores, internalizing/externalizing problems, emotion dysregulation, victimization. For this purpose, we examined data from 2129 (mean age = 12.31, SD 0.67; 51% male; 6% born outside Germany) using structural equation model. We found medium high loadings manifest variables latent (COVID-19, factors, psychopathology). Protective showed significant negative correlation psychopathology. However, had weak connection our sample. External pandemic-related (e.g., restrictions) interaction existing individual greater influence on people’s than impact virus per se. Sociopolitical efforts should undertaken foster prevention promote adolescence.
