Image-guided thermal ablation (IGTA) is an important treatment modality for interventional oncology. It widely used the of solid tumors, such as liver, lung, breast, kidney, and thyroid cancers. IGTA include radiofrequency ablation, microwave (MWA), cryoablation, laser ablation. Compared with other energy sources, MWA has advantage a large ablative volume, short time, low heat sink effect. can also induce antitumor immunity; however, only minority patients derive clinical benefit from it. Based on these data, combination immunotherapy emerged promising new direction cancer treatment. This review article focuses current research immunotherapy. The status immune activation related studies involving various malignant tumors are discussed.

Colorectal cancer is a leading cause of cancer-related death. Liver metastases will develop in over one-third patients with colorectal and are major morbidity mortality. Even though surgical resection has been considered the mainstay treatment, only approximately 20% candidates. Liver-directed locoregional therapies such as thermal ablation, Yttrium-90 transarterial radioembolization, stereotactic body radiation therapy pivotal managing liver metastatic disease. Comprehensive pre- post-intervention imaging, encompassing both anatomic metabolic assessments, invaluable for precise treatment planning, staging, response assessment, prompt identification local or distant tumor progression. This review outlines value imaging disease offers insights into follow-up after liver-directed therapy.

Microwave ablation (MWA) is a super minimally invasive therapeutic approach that has been widely applied in the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Although MWA can elicit antitumor immune responses, these responses are not relatively steady and insufficient to completely clear recurrence tumor cells within body. Immunotherapy monotherapy shown low clinical efficacy advanced NSCLC. combined with checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) promising approach. However, mechanism synergic effect remains elusive. In this study, we have conducted retrospective analysis outcomes ICIs, finding combinational therapy yielded superior Objective Response Rate longer Progression-Free Survival. preclinical models, established rechallenged model address post-MWA delve into underlying mechanisms therapy. Additionally, treatments promoted Migration Dendritic Cells type 1 (Mig DC1) TdLNs, thereby enhancing their activation potential. Notably, FTY720-mediated lymphocyte egress abolished benefits, confirming TdLNs-dependent systemic immunity.
