Forest trees are a major source of biogenic volatile organic compounds (BVOCs). Terpenes and terpenoids known as the main BVOCs forest aerosols. These have been shown to display broad range biological activities in various human disease models, thus implying that aerosols containing these may be related beneficial effects bathing.
