Physical activity was associated with the risk of all-cause and cardiovascular mortality. However, little is known about older adults, especially those aged over 80 years. 2863 adults in Chinese Longitudinal Healthy Longevity Survey (CLHLS) were enrolled. score used to evaluate physical activity. Abstract Background Early studies have shown a relationship between activities of daily living (ADL) disability and depressive symptoms in older people. However, discussions on the direction this are insufficient. The study’s objective was to assess reciprocal ADL among middle-aged Chinese Method Data collected four waves nationwide survey, China Health Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS), which carried out 2011, 2013, 2015, 2018. In total, study included 4,124 participants aged ≥ 45 years at baseline. A summing score eleven items for basic (BADL) instrumental (IADL) calculated indicate degree disability. 10-item Centre Epidemiological Studies Depression Scale (CESD-10) adopted measure symptoms. tested by cross-lagged models. Result At baseline, 911 (22.1%) were classified as having difficulties with ADL, prevalence 34.4% (1,418). Among people China, there significant longitudinal People who had difficulty faced higher risk symptoms, those suffered from accompanied an increase following years. subgroup analysis age also showed that reciprocally longitudinally related only women similar results gender. Conclusion This shows is bi-directionally over time. suggest we should identify bad psychological conditions time prevent subsequent mutual damage people, vulnerable group rising future.

As a means of social support, intergenerational support plays an essential role in encouraging older people to participate society. Data on 3142 adults were collected from the China Survey Elderly Health Influencing Factors (CLHLS), and logistic regression models used determine effects several types participation whether self-rated health life satisfaction mediated associations between participation. Among all three results showed that financial emotional positively associated with Chinese our sample. We observed rural-urban differences participation, which significant urban groups. Gender also exist these relationships. The both groups impact was obvious only female group. Rationale With the accelerating process of population aging, comorbidity chronic disease (CCD) has become a major public health problem that threatens older adults. Objective This study aimed to assess whether CCD is associated with basic activities daily living (BADL) and explore factors influencing BADL in Method A cross-sectional community survey stratified random sampling among residents (≥60 years old) was conducted 2022. questionnaire used collect information on BADL, diseases, other relevant aspects. Propensity score matching (PSM) match adults without CCD. Univariate multivariate logistic regression analyses were BADL. PSM participants single-chronic (SCD) Results Among 47,720 participants, those showed higher prevalence disability (13.07%) than no (6.33%) SCD (7.39%). After adjusting for potential confounders PSM, 6,513 pairs cases matched. The univariate analysis found had significantly (13.07%, 851 6,513) (9.83%, 640 6,513, P < 0.05). revealed risk factor [OR = 1.496, 95% CI: 1.393–1.750, 0.001]. In addition, age, educational level, alcohol intake, social interaction, annual physical examination, retirement benefits, depression, weekly amount exercise, exercise related ( performed (11.39%, 742 Conclusion are at their counterparts or SCD. Background The association between the instrumental activities of daily living (IADL) score and risk initial cognitive function impairment is inconclusive. We aimed to identify distinctive IADL trajectories examine their relationship with onset mild (MCI) among Chinese older people. Methods study used six-wave longitudinal data from Longitudinal Healthy Longevity Survey conducted 2002 2018. It included a total 11,044 people aged 65 years or older. A group-based trajectory model was score, Cox proportional hazards explore hazard ratio various at MCI. Interaction analysis analyze individual modification Finally, we adopted four types sensitivity verify robustness results. Results During median follow-up 16 years, incidence MCI 6.29 cases per 1,000 person-years (95% confidence interval [CI] 5.92–6.68). Three distinct groups were identified: low-risk group (41.4%), an increasing (28.5%), high-risk (30.4%). Abstract Background In recent years, the use of virtual reality (VR) as a complementary intervention in treating cognitive impairment has significantly increased. VR applications based on instrumental activities daily living (iADL-VR) could offer promising approach with greater ecological validity for groups impairments. However, effectiveness this is still debated. Objective This systematic review aims to synthesize effects iADL-VR interventions rehabilitate, train, or stimulate functions healthy adults and people mild (MCI) different types dementia. Methods A search was performed Scopus, PubMed, IEEE Xplore, Web Science, APA PsycNet databases until September 2022 repeated April 2023. The selected studies met terms, were peer-reviewed, included an intervention, written English. Descriptive, qualitative studies, reviews, assessment, non-intervention those unrelated iADL, focused motor aspects, non-degenerative disorders excluded. PEDro scale used assess methodological quality controlled studies. To present results, we organized extracted data into three tables, including scores, participant characteristics, study characteristics. Results Nineteen that inclusion exclusion criteria included. total sample reached 590 participants, mostly women (72.67%). Approximately 30% diagnosed Alzheimer’s disease dementia, 20% had impairment. Variables such authors year publication, design, type applied, duration main findings, conclusions extracted.
