This comprehensive review examines the latest developments in improving blood compatibility of hemoperfusion adsorbents. By leveraging advanced coating and modification techniques, including albumin-collodion, cellulose, hydrogel, heparin coatings, notable enhancements have been achieved across diverse adsorbent types, such as carbon-based, resin-based, polysaccharide-based materials. Despite promising laboratory results, intricate manufacturing processes elevated costs present significant challenges for broad clinical application. Therefore, future endeavors should focus on cost-benefit analysis, large-scale production strategies, in-depth exploration blood-material interactions, innovative technologies to propel development safer more effective purification therapies.

The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic is a major public health event caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome 2 (SARS-CoV-2). COVID-19 has spread widely all over the world. A high proportion of patients become severely or critically ill, and suffer mortality due to failure multiple organ dysfunction. Therefore, providing timely effective treatment for ill essential reduce overall mortality. Convalescent plasma therapy pharmacological treatments, such as aerosol inhalation interferon-α (IFN-α), corticosteroids, tocilizumab, have been applied in clinical practice; however, their effects remain controversial. Recent studies shown that extracorporeal therapies might potential role treating patients. In this review, we examine application continuous renal replacement (CRRT), therapeutic exchange (TPE), hemoadsorption (HA), membrane oxygenation (ECMO), carbon dioxide removal (ECCO2R) provide support further diagnosis COVID-19.

The potential for treatment of the critically ill using blood purification techniques has been discussed several decades. However, since first attempts at applying extracorporeal to patients with sepsis were described, there considerable hesitancy towards widespread adoption such methods, given lack mortality benefit observed and indeed paucity randomized controlled studies. this is not unique so far as studies on are concerned where a dearth providing positive finding influence clinical practice. Consequently, well targeted patient selection, it perhaps time consider endpoints other than in ill, particularly where, to-date, heterogeneous groups have studied.

Abstract Background The use of hemoperfusion for cytokine removal and inflammatory mediators is increasingly intense, especially in coronavirus disease 2019 patients who are already known to the general public having storms. However, we have about these storms a long time critical care world. One modalities remove cytokines filtration adsorption techniques with continuous renal replacement therapy. therapy usually constrained by its very high cost compared standard care, Indonesia, where health costs covered national insurance. In this case, hemodialysis hemoperfusion, using dialysis machine, which more cost-effective easy use. Case presentation We used Jafron HA330 cartridge, modified BBraun Dialog+ machine. This case report presents an 84-year-old Asian man septic shock due pneumonia, congestive heart failure, acute chronic kidney accompanied fluid overload. After undergoing separately, there was gradual significant clinical improvement. Clinical indicators, including vasopressor inotropic score infection markers, should all be considered when deciding whether begin hemoperfusion. Conclusion general, treat can reduce length stay intensive unit, morbidity mortality.
