Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a metabolic disease characterized by chronic hyperglycaemia, with absolute insulin deficiency or resistance as the main cause, and causes damage to various target organs including heart, kidney neurovascular. In terms of pathological physiological mechanisms DM, oxidative stress one leading DM an important link between its complications. Oxidative phenomenon resulting from imbalance production free radicals scavenging antioxidant systems. The site reactive oxygen species (ROS) mitochondria, which are also organelles damaged. high glucose environment, impaired electron transport chain within mitochondria leads ROS, prompts increased proton leakage altered mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP), in turn releases cytochrome c (cyt-c), apoptosis. ROS/RNS involved cardiac redox-signaling originate from diverse sources, their are tightly controlled by key endogenous antioxidant systems that counteract accumulation. However, dysregulated redox-stress resulting inefficient removal leads to inflammation, mitochondrial dysfunction, cell death, contributing development progression disease (CVD).

Dyslipidemia is a significant threat to public health worldwide and the identification of its pathogenic mechanisms, as well novel lipid-lowering agents, are warranted. Magnesium (Mg) key element human deficiency has been linked development lipid abnormalities related disorders, such metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes mellitus, or cardiovascular disease. In this review, we explored associations Mg (dietary intake, concentrations in body) profile, impact supplementation on serum lipids. A systematic search was computed PubMed/MEDLINE Cochrane Library 3649 potentially relevant papers were detected screened (n = 3364 following removal duplicates). After irrelevant manuscripts based screening their titles abstracts 3037), examined full-texts 327 original papers. Finally, after applied exclusion inclusion criteria, number 124 articles included review. Overall, data analyzed review point out an association body with lipids dyslipidemia disorders. However, further research warranted clarify whether higher intake from diet via supplements can influence profile exert actions.

Magnesium is an essential mineral for the human body and a cofactor or activator more than 300 enzymatic reactions, including blood glucose control insulin release. Diabetes well-known global burden of disease with increasing prevalence. In China, prevalence diabetes in adults higher average. Evidence shows that magnesium predictor resistance diabetes. However, majority studies focus on dietary instead serum concentration. We study correlation levels Type 2 this prospective cohort study, we included 5044 participants aged 18 years older without (IR) at baseline from China Health Nutrition Survey (CHNS). A fasting sample was taken measurement both types magnesium, glucose, hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c), insulin. The homeostatic model (HOMA-IR) calculated. Demographic characteristics participants, risk factors such as intensity physical activities, smoking status, drinking habit, anthropometric information were recorded. IR defined HOMA-IR ≥ 2.5, mellitus plasma 7.0 mmol/L HbA1c 6.5%, self-reported diagnosis treatment total 1331 incident events 429 diabetic recorded during average follow-up 5.8 years. concentration categorized into quintiles. After adjusting relevant covariates, third quintile (0.89−0.93 mmol/L) correlated 29% lower (hazard ratio = 0.71, 95% CI 0.58, 0.86) Multivariable-adjusted hazard ratios (95% confidence intervals) compared lowest (<0.85). found similar results when evaluating continuous measure. Anxiety disorder is characterized by excessive fear or avoidance of perceived threats that can be persistent and debilitating. Diet a modifiable risk factor may contribute to the pathogenesis treatment anxiety, depending on diet quality. Although biological mechanisms which food, specific nutrients, nutraceuticals impact mental health are not completely understood, implicated pathways include inflammation, oxidative stress, brain plasticity effects, mitochondrial dysfunction, neurotransmitter metabolism. Essential dietary trace minerals such as zinc, copper, iron, selenium critical components for numerous proteins have role in these proposed related anxiety. This narrative review examines influence essential elements anxiety symptoms based latest peer-reviewed scientific evidence. Current research indicates deficiencies associated with while copper overload greater degree than deficiency. Further investigation needed understand neurobiological involved. Overall, collective findings demonstrate importance optimizing mineral homeostasis mitigation disorders preservation health.

Many investigations have discovered a connection between statins and magnesium supplements. On one hand, increasing research suggests that chronic hypomagnesemia may be an important factor in the etiology of some metabolic illnesses, including obesity overweight, insulin resistance type 2 diabetes mellitus, hypertension, alterations lipid metabolism, low-grade inflammation. Chronic problems seem to prevented by high Mg intake combined with diet and/or other it is known lower frequency cardiac events, stroke, mortality, not lowering LDL-C, but capacity reduce mevalonate formation. That will enhance endothelial function, inhibit vascular smooth muscle cell proliferation migration encourage macrophages promote plaque stability regression while reducing Taking these factors into consideration, we did extensive analysis relevant literature, comparing effects Mg2 statin medications on lipoproteins and, implicitly, key enzymes involved cholesterol metabolism.
