Background: Individuals with hyperinsulinemia may initially not meet any diagnostic criteria for metabolic syndrome, though displaying a higher risk of cardiovascular complications combined obesity, diabetes, and hypertension. Aim: The main objective our study was to assess the accuracy various indices in hyperinsulinemic children adolescents; secondary estimate optimal cut-offs these indices. Patients methods: This retrospective single-center conducted on 139 patients aged 12.1 ± 2.9 years, managed hyperinsulinism. Results: We found statistically significant differences homeostasis model assessment insulin resistance index (HOMA-IR), triglyceride glucose (TyG), TyG-body mass index, visceral adiposity lipid accumulation product fatty liver hepatic steatosis index. At linear logistic regression assessment, we that growth factor-1 (IGF-1), HOMA-IR, ALT/AST ratio were independently associated confirmed multivariate analysis, IGF-1 levels over 203 ng/mL HOMA-IR than 6.2 respectively 9- 18-times odds other investigated parameters significantly related hyperinsulinism, could predict either presence or subsequent patients. Conclusion: Commonly used adults cannot be considered accurate confirming hyperinsulinism children, exception HOMA-IR. Further studies are needed verify usefulness specific adolescents.

Abstract Background Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) has become an important health issue in adolescents. Although several parameters and indices have been investigated for the evaluation of NAFLD adults, these are limited In this study, body mass index, waist circumference, triponderal HbA1c, homeostatic model assessment insulin resistance (HOMA-IR), triglyceride/high-density lipoprotein (Tg/HDL), lipid accumulation product (LAP) triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index aminotransferase (AT) were examined together, their diagnostic values clinical treatment compared. Materials methods Seventynine adolescents (10–19 years old) with obesity who admitted to a pediatric clinic between January August 2022 diagnosed exogenous without any comorbidities included study. The presence was evaluated by magnetic resonance imaging. laboratory findings obtained retrospectively from system records. Parameters compared (+) (-) groups. Logistic regression analysis used determine most effective factors treatment. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) performed significant indices. Sex, HOMA-IR, TyG AT together multivariate design scale. Results greater group ( P = 0.012; 0.001; 0.002, respectively). There positive correlation fat percentage Tg/HDL. According analysis, male sex elevated HOMA-IR determined be risk NAFLD. A probability scale 4 [sex, alanine (ALT)] designed 82.5% specificity 80% sensitivity. Conclusion Evaluation indices, especially high-risk patients, will support diagnosis via ultrasonography. ALT, TyG, data accuracy may aid obesity.

The presence of hypertension significantly increases the risk diabetes, particularly type 2 diabetes. Recently, Visceral Adiposity Index (VAI) has been introduced as a straightforward and robust alternative indicator for early detection metabolic syndrome, cardiovascular disease, T2DM. adiposity, more dangerous than subcutaneous fat, is associated with syndrome diseases. VAI Lipid Accumulation Product (LAP) are indices that quantify visceral fat lipid overaccumulation, respectively. This study aims to explore association between VAI, LAP, diabetes mellitus (T2DM) in US adults using NHANES data from 2005 2018.

Objective: This is a systematic review and meta-analysis that aims to evaluate the prevalence of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) risk factors such as type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), hypertension, obesity, PCOS, sleep apnea associated with it. NAFLD one most prevalent diseases affect approximately 40% diabetic, hypertensive, dyslipidemic obese individuals. Its asymptomatic nature often leads under diagnosis progress severe cirrhosis hepatocellular carcinoma. Methods: A total 1819 studies from database 2019 2024 were identified, finally 10 selected, Statistical Package for Social Sciences software was used data analysis. Results: The analyses across different geographic regions 620,3969 patients NAFLD, T2DM came out be 15% among males, whereas 22.2% in females. 52.55% noted population 26.74% lean individuals, PCOS 43%, metabolic syndrome 75.3%, various also identified. Conclusion: throws light on focusing need increased awareness screening people at risk, strategies could help avert progression.
