Chronic inflammatory processes in the oral mucosa and periodontitis are common disorders caused by microflora microbial biofilms. These factors activate both innate adaptive immune systems, leading to production of pro-inflammatory cytokines. Cytokines known play a crucial role pathogenesis gingivitis have been proposed as biomarkers for diagnosis follow-up these diseases. They can stromal cells, local inflammation tissue damage. Studies reported increased levels cytokines, such interleukin-1beta (IL-1beta), tumor necrosis factor (TNF), IL-6, IL-17, IL-23, patients with periodontitis. In experimental models periodontitis, TNF IL-23/IL-17 axis pivotal disease pathogenesis. Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is the most prevalent form of dementia, characterized by a progressive cognitive decline. Sporadic AD, accounting for more than 95% cases, may arise due to influence environmental factors. It was reported that periodontitis, common oral ailment, shares several risk factors with including advanced age, smoking, diabetes, and hypertension, among others. Periodontitis an inflammatory triggered dysbiosis microorganisms, whereas neuroinflammation. Many studies have indicated chronic inflammation can instigate brain AD-related pathologies, amyloid-β plaques, Tau protein hyperphosphorylation, neuroinflammation, neurodegeneration. The potential involvement periodontal pathogens and/or their virulence in onset progression AD oral-brain axis has garnered significant attention researchers ongoing investigations. Periodontitis and diabetes mellitus are two highly prevalent chronic conditions that share a bidirectional relationship, significantly impacting public health. Periodontitis, gum inflammation caused by microbial dysbiosis, aggravates glycemic control in diabetics, while uncontrolled heightens periodontitis severity. These create vicious cycle, where dysbiosis mutually drive disease progression, exacerbating systemic The underlying mechanisms involve inflammation, immune dysfunction, with both diseases contributing to chain of exacerbates This relationship is significant because managing one condition can impact the other. In diabetic individuals, interventions such as periodontal therapy have shown effectiveness improving control, underscoring potential integrated strategies for these simultaneously. this review, we highlight importance deeper understanding molecular immunological interactions between essential developing therapeutic approaches, enhance quality life patient significantly.

Progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) is an atypical parkinsonian syndrome based on tau pathology; its clinical phenotype differs, but PSP with Richardson's (PSP-RS) and the parkinsonism predominant (PSP-P) variant remain two most common manifestations. Neuroinflammation involved in course of disease may cause neurodegeneration. However, up-to-date cytokine profile has not been assessed different phenotypes. This study aimed to evaluate possible differences neuroinflammatory patterns between Serum cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) concentrations interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β) IL-6 were analyzed using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) kits 36 participants-12 healthy controls 24 patients a diagnosis PSP-12 PSP-RS 12 PSP-P. Disease duration among ranged from three six years. All participants underwent basic biochemical testing, neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) platelet-to-lymphocyte (PLR) values calculated. Due lack neuropathological examinations, as all alive, total levels CSF. Tau significantly higher PSP-P groups compared controls. The lowest serum CSF interleukins observed patients, whereas had interleukin concentrations.
