Background Understanding the barriers and facilitators of implementation completion is critical to determining why some efforts fail succeed. Such studies provide foundation for developing further strategies support when scaling up evidence-based practices (EBPs) such as Motivational Interviewing. Method This mixed-methods study utilized Exploration, Preparation, Implementation, Sustainment framework in an iterative analytic design compare adolescent HIV clinics that demonstrated either high or low context a hybrid Type III trial tailored motivational interviewing. Ten were assigned one three categories (high, medium, low) based on percentage staff who adhered components strategies. Comparative analysis qualitative interviews compared contrasted high-completion with low-completion clinics. Results suggested several factors distinguished including optimism, problem-solving barriers, leadership, stress turnover. Conclusions Implementation targeting these can be added EBP packages improve success.

Abstract Background The education sector is one of the most common and accessible settings for universal prevention programs youth mental health. But it suffers from suboptimal implementation evidence-based practices (EBPs). Although organizational context (OC) contains crucial factors, successful ultimately resides in behavioral cognitive factors individual implementers (e.g., attitudes toward EBPs). Also, emerging literature called discerning general strategic types OC exploring their interaction effect on behaviors. This study aimed to examine cross-level associations among implementer EBPs leadership climate (general strategic) at organizational-levels mechanistic effect. Methods A series multilevel models (MLMs) were fitted a diverse sample educational agencies actively implementing health (441 52 schools). organization-level aggregates perceptions climate, terms, entered as level-2 level-1 predictors based level measurement. outcomes are four dimensions (Requirement, Openness, Appeal, Divergence). Results At level, higher levels but not counterparts, consistently associated with more favorable all dimensions. perceived Requirement Openness. only showed significant Appeal. organizational-level, moderated positive implementers' perception appeal divergence EBPs.
