Abstract Background and objectives Gingivitis periodontitis are common periodontal diseases that can significantly harm overall oral health, affecting the teeth their supporting tissues, along with surrounding anatomical structures, if left untreated, leading to total destruction of alveolar bone connective tooth loss, other more serious systemic health issues. Numerous studies have shown propolis help reduce gum inflammation, inhibit growth pathogenic bacteria, promote tissue regeneration, but varying degrees success reported. For this reason, comprehensive systematic review aims at finding out truth concerning efficacy mouthwashes in treating gingivitis periodontitis, as its main objective.
