Exploring the effect of college students’ resilience on self-consciousness can enrich theoretical system mental health research, providing guidance and countermeasures for psychological education, further promoting students to grow up obtain sound personalities. This study takes self-esteem positive affect as mediators, related scales resilience, self-consciousness, self-esteem, research tool. 586 from three different types universities in Sichuan-Chongqing area are selected sample objects. Several studies have highlighted the impact of novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic on suicide. Accordingly, investigating risk factors suicide during this crisis is important. Based escape theory suicide, current study examined serial mediating roles psychological distress and hopelessness in relationship between self-esteem suicidal ideation. It also aimed to explore whether or not COVID-19 changed mediation effect any way.Data were collected from 645 university students before pandemic.
