When normal individuals are asked to localize and mark the midpoint of a radial line, they tend bisect it farther than true center. It has been suggested that misbisection depends on presence visual attentional bias directed toward far space. The aim present study was investigate whether localization center lines affected by starting position hand. There were two positions: one between body line ("near"), other beyond ("far"). Thirty-four subjects participated in experiment. results showed (i) participants bisected center, measured with reference their body, both near condition, (ii) bisection errors condition greater those condition. We suggest hand direction ongoing movement influenced modulating

To better understand how behavioural intention (BI) and financial management elements (FME) affect insurance companies' performance (FP), this study will examine the relationship. Two hundred seventy-seven (277) firms in Iraq were questioned for cross-sectional study. Using principal component analysis, we able to minimise number of variables pinpoint key parts that best represented FME, BI, health businesses. Apart from that, proposed evaluated two hypotheses regarding significance association between these three company characteristics. Abstract Introduction Grip strength and walking pace have been linked to cognitive dysfunction. Their relationships, however, demand further clarification as the evidence is derived primarily from less‐comprehensive investigations. Methods A total of 340212 UK Biobank participants without dementia cardiovascular diseases at baseline were analyzed. Cox proportional hazard models assessed longitudinal associations. Results Over a mean follow‐up 8.51 ± 2.68 years, 2424 incident cases documented. 5 kg increment absolute grip was associated with lower risks all‐cause (hazard ratio [HR] 0.857), Alzheimer's disease (HR 0.874), vascular 0.788). The patterns associations remained similar when expressed in relative terms quintiles. slow demonstrated consistent increased all types. Discussion Our findings provide amplified suggest that muscle fitness, reflected by objective measures self‐reported pace, may be imperative for estimating dementia.

Neurofeedback (NF) is a biofeedback technique that teaches individuals self-control of brain functions by measuring activations and providing an online feedback signal to modify emotional, cognitive, behavioral functions. NF approaches typically rely on single modality, such as electroencephalography (EEG-NF) or imaging technique, functional magnetic resonance (fMRI-NF). The introduction simultaneous EEG-fMRI tools has opened up the possibility combining high temporal resolution EEG with spatial fMRI, thereby increasing accuracy NF. However, only few studies have actively combined both techniques. In this study, we conducted systematic review EEG-fMRI-NF (N = 17) identify potential effectiveness non-invasive treatment for neurological conditions. revealed lack homogeneity among studies, including sample sizes, acquisition methods in terms simultaneity two procedures (unimodal EEG-NF fMRI-NF), therapeutic targets field, number sessions. Indeed, because most are based session NF, it difficult draw any conclusions regarding efficacy Therefore, further research needed fully understand non-clinical clinical EEG-fMRI-NF.

Early detection of mild cognitive impairment (MCI), a transitional stage between normal aging and Alzheimer disease, is crucial for preventing the progression dementia. Virtual reality (VR) biomarkers have proven to be effective in capturing behaviors associated with subtle deficits instrumental activities daily living, such as challenges using food-ordering kiosk, early MCI. On other hand, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) demonstrated their efficacy quantifying observable structural brain changes that can aid MCI detection. Nevertheless, relationship VR-derived MRI remains an open question. In this context, we explored integration enhance through multimodal learning approach.

Patients with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) may exhibit poorer performance in visuomotor tasks than healthy individuals, particularly under conditions high cognitive load. Few studies have examined reaching movements MCI and did so without assessing susceptibility to distractor interference. This proof-of-concept study analyzed the kinematics of visually guided towards a target dot placed along participants' midsagittal/reaching axis. Movements were performed visual (flanker) at various distances from Participants instructed avoid "touching" flanker during movement execution. The whole sample included 11 patients due Alzheimer's disease, 10 older adults, 12 young all right-handed. whose trajectories deviated significantly away flanker, especially when it was 1 mm away, less consistent controls. Also, our results suggest that trajectory curvature discriminate between adults. analysis interference enhance diagnosis MCI, underscoring need for multidimensional assessments incorporating both motor domains.

In the last decades, it has been proposed that executive functions may be particularly vulnerable to weight-related issues. However, evidence on matter is mixed, especially when effects of sociodemographic variables are weighted. Thus, current study aimed at further examining relationship between and obesity. To this aim, we compared treatment-seeking overweight, obese, morbidly obese patients with normal-weight control participants. We examined general functioning (Frontal Assessment Battery−15) different subdomains (e.g., inhibitory control, verbal fluency, psychomotor speed) in a clinical sample including 208 outpatients degrees BMI (52 25−30, M age = 34.38; 76 30−40, 38.00; 80 > 40, 36.20). Background: The relationship binding body weight to psychological well-being is unclear. present study aims at identifying the contribution, and specificity, of some dimensions (i.e., eating-related symptoms, image disorders, eating habits, personality traits, emotional difficulties) characterizing profile obese adolescents (749 participants, 325 females; 58.3% normal-weight, 29.9% overweight, 11.7% obese; mean age = 16.05, SD 0.82). Methods: By introducing scores obtained by standardized self-report tools into a generalized linear model, factorial reduction design was used detect best fitting discriminant functions principal components explaining higher proportion variance. Results: We found two correctly classifying 87.1% 57.2% 68.2% adolescents. Furthermore, independent factors, 69.68% total variance, emerged. Conclusions: first factor, “Body Image Concerns”, included drive for thinness, dissatisfaction, interpersonal distrust. second “Selective Depersonalization”, trend toward depersonalization dissatisfaction with torso. neurophysiological implications our findings will be discussed.
