The main aim of this study was to compare the performance over different distances, critical velocity (CV), and plasma acylcarnitines/amino acids male female adolescent swimmers. Moreover, we applied complex network approach identify which molecules are associated with athletes’ performances. On first day under a controlled environment, blood samples were collected after 12 h overnight fasting. Performance trials (100, 200, 400, 800-m) randomly performed in subsequent four days swimming pool, CV determined by linear distance versus time mathematical function. Metabolomic analyses carried out on triple quadrupole mass spectrometer performing electrospray ionization positive mode. No difference observed between Except for 200-m (p = 0.08), tyrosine positively significantly times during (100-m, p 0.04; 400-m, 800-m, 0.02), inversely 0.02). showed that glycine (0.406), glutamine (0.400), arginine (0.335), free carnitine (0.355), tryptophan (0.289), histidine (0.271) most influential nodes reach tyrosine. These results revealed thread must be explored further randomized/controlled designs, improving knowledge surrounding nutrition

Brain-Derived Neurotropic Factor (BDNF) is one of the essential mediating factors exercise-induced neuroplasticity, but underlying molecular mechanisms neuroplasticity are still largely unknown. Personality dimensions differentiate individuals and depend on genes environmental factors. The openness to experience, emotional stability, extraversion conscientiousness have been reported be positively related performance; considering agreeableness, a negative relation with sports performance was emphasized. However, not enough effort has put into investigating relationship between genetic polymorphisms affecting psychological abilities competitive power sports. aim this study investigate association rs6265 polymorphism BDNF personality in martial arts athletes. conducted among group included 258 volunteers (martial athletes (n = 106) controls 152). testing performed using real-time PCR method; were assessed standardized NEO-FFI questionnaires. All analyses STATISTICA 13. We observed that athletes’ G/G genotypes compared control presented significantly higher severity dimension “conscientiousness”. In comparison controls, case subjects had scores (M 6.89 vs. M 6.43, p 0.0405) conscientiousness/scale 7.23 5.89, < 0.0001). results 2 × 3 factorial ANOVA noticed statistically significant effect combined factor genotype arts/control (F2,252 3.11, 0.0465, η2 0.024).
