The gut microbiota of healthy breastfed infants is often dominated by bifidobacteria. In an effort to mimic the infants, modern formulas are fortified with bioactive and bifidogenic ingredients. These ingredients promote optimal health development as well infant microbiota. Here, we used INFOGEST in vitro batch fermentation model investigate health-promoting effects a commercial formula supplemented blend containing docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) (20 mg/100 kcal), polydextrose galactooligosaccharides (PDX/GOS) (4 g/L, 1:1 ratio), milk fat globule membrane (MFGM) (5 g/L), lactoferrin (0.6 Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis, BB-12 (BB-12) (106 CFU/g). Using fecal inoculates from three assessed changes, effect, short-chain fatty (SCFA) production test compared those data obtained unsupplemented base breast control. Our results show that even after digestion formula, can still maintain its bioactivity modulate infants' composition, faster bifidobacterial growth, stimulate SCFAs. Thus, it may be concluded promotes SCFA profile something similar, but not identical infants.

Comprehensive whole-body models (WBMs) accounting for organ-specific dynamics have been developed to simulate adult metabolism, but such do not exist infants. Here, we present a resource of 360 organ-resolved, sex-specific newborn and infant metabolism (infant-WBMs) spanning the first 180 days life. These infant-WBMs were parameterized represent distinct metabolic characteristics newborns infants, including nutrition, energy requirements, thermoregulation. We demonstrate that predicted growth was consistent with recommendation by World Health Organization. assessed infant-WBMs' reliability capabilities personalization simulating 10,000 based on their blood metabolome birth weight. Furthermore, accurately changes in known biomarkers over time responses treatment strategies inherited diseases. The infant-WBM holds promise personalized medicine, as could be step digital twins metabolism.

In order to achieve rapid detection of galactooligosaccharides (GOS), fructooligosaccharides (FOS), calcium (Ca), and vitamin C (Vc), four micronutrient components in infant formula milk powder, this study employed methods, namely Standard Normal Variate (SNV), Multiplicative Scatter Correction (MSC), Normalization (Nor), Savitzky–Golay Smoothing (SG), preprocess the acquired original spectra powder. Then, Competitive Adaptive Reweighted Sampling (CARS) algorithm Random Frog (RF) were used extract representative characteristic wavelengths. Furthermore, Partial Least Squares Regression (PLSR) Support Vector (SVR) models established predict contents GOS, FOS, Ca, Vc The results indicated that after SNV preprocessing, GOS FOS could effectively feature wavelengths using CARS algorithm, leading favorable predictive through CARS-SVR model. Similarly, MSC Ca efficiently resulting optimal outcomes via This provides insights for realization online nutritional component optimization control production process formula.
