Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is a pathogen known to cause number of malignancies, often taking years for them develop after primary infection. EBV-associated gastric cancer (EBVaGC) one such malignancy, and an immunologically, molecularly pathologically distinct entity from EBV-negative (EBVnGC). Liver cancer is one of the most lethal gastrointestinal malignancies. Early and accurate diagnosis of gastric cancer (GC) is essential for reducing mortality improving patient well-being. However, methods the early GC are still lacking. In this study, by isobaric tagging relative absolute quantitation (iTRAQ), we identified 336 proteins that overlapped among upregulated differentially expressed (DEPs) in (EGC) versus progressive (PGC), DEPs EGC nongastric (NGC), nonsignificant NGC. These were involved primarily neutrophil-related immune response. Network analysis pathways revealed fibrinogen α (FGA), β (FGB), γ (FGG) candidates distinguishing EGC.
