Orostachys margaritifolia Y. N. Lee (OMY) is an endemic Korean plant in the family Crassulaceae that known to contain a variety of bioactive compounds. To assess physiological activities OMY ethanol extract, ABTS+ and DPPH radical scavenging assays nitric oxide (NO) inhibition assay were conducted. The phytochemical makeup extract was profiled via liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-ESI/MS) high-performance chromatography with photodiode array detector (HPLC/PDA). found have weaker than control group (green tea). In NO assay, induced significant increase macrophage cell viability but showed lower inhibitory activity l-NAME, producing IC50 value 202.6 μg/mL. LC-ESI/MS HPLC/PDA analyses identified isoquercitrin astragalin quantifying their contents at 3.74 mg/g 3.19 mg/g, respectively. study revealed possibilities for utilization as future source drugs alleviating inflammation diseases related reactive oxygen species.

Legumes possess several bioactive nutrients, including flavonoids, and the study of flavonoid profile legumes is great significance to human health. Using widely targeted metabolomics, we revealed profiles five popular fresh legumes: cowpea, soybean, pea, fava bean, kidney bean. A total 259 flavonoids were identified, accumulation patterns remarkably different. In addition analyzing common species-specific in legumes, also generalized representative various subclasses. We related these health-promoting effects legumes. Furthermore, legumes' content antioxidant system activity detected. Intriguingly, sakuranetin, sole phytoalexin that can be induced by UV radiation, was detected only peas metabolomics. Meanwhile, found treatment could significantly increase sakuranetin postharvest Botrytis cinerea resistance pea pods. This provides clues for target diet, industrial development a new idea preservation peas.

The intestinal mucosal barrier (IMB) damage is intricately linked with the onset of numerous diseases. Astragalin (AS), a flavonoid present in edible plants, exhibits notable antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, demonstrating promising impact on certain ailments. In this study, our objective was to investigate protective effects AS elucidate underlying mechanisms by which it mitigates lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced IMB mice.
