BackgroundLimited data are available on risk (psychological effects of trauma, negative coping) and protective (resilience, positive factors for psychological distress among Chinese healthcare workers (HCWs) during the pandemic. Abstract The COVID-19 pandemic has had a profound impact on the mental health of healthcare workers (HCWs). We aimed to identify factors associated with depression among HCWs during pandemic. conducted literature search using eight electronic databases up July 27 2022. Observational studies more than 200 participants investigating correlates in after outbreak were included. used fixed- and random-effects models pool odds ratios (ORs) across studies, Cochran's chi-squared test I 2 statistics assess study heterogeneity. Publication bias was evaluated by funnel plots. Thirty-five involving 44,362 met inclusion criteria. Female (OR=1.50, 95% CI [1.23,1.84]), single (OR=1.36, [1.21,1.54]), nurse (OR=1.69, [1.28,2.25]), history diseases (OR=2.53, [1.78,3.58]), frontline (OR=1.79, [1.38,2.32]), anxiety due (OR=1.88, [1.29,2.76]), working isolation wards (OR=1.98, [1.38,2.84]), insufficient personal protective equipment (OR=1.49, [1.33,1.67]) increased risk depression.
