Depressive disorders pose a significant global public health challenge, yet evidence on their burden remains insufficient. To report the global, regional and national of depressive attributable risk factors from 1990 to 2021. Data Global Burden Disease 2021 were analyzed for 204 countries territories We explored age-standardised incidence, prevalence disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) by age, gender sociodemographic index. In 2021, there 357.44 million incident cases, 332.41 prevalent cases 56.33 DALYs. Age-standardised rates DALYs 4333.62, 4006.82 681.14 per 100 000 persons, with annual declines 0.06%, 0.03% 0.04%. Uganda, Greenland Lesotho had highest prevalence, while Spain, Mexico Uruguay showed largest increases. Brunei Darussalam lowest rates, respectively. peaked in 55-59 age group men 60-64 women, higher women. Regionally, U-shaped association was found between index rates. Population growth main driver increase cases. Childhood maltreatment leading factor, intimate partner violence affecting more females childhood sexual abuse males. Despite decreasing trends absolute case numbers continue disorders. Tackling improving disorder management are crucial reducing future burdens.

Background Parkinson’s disease (PD), characterized by the loss of dopaminergic neurons, is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder. Recent research has revealed significant connection between gut microbiota and PD. To gain insight into interests, disciplinary contexts, potential future directions, comprehensive bibliometric analysis was conducted on brain-gut axis PD literature published 2014 2023. Methods Relevant records were gathered from Web Science Core Collection August 11, The data then analyzed Biblioshiny R packages VOSviewer (version 1.6.19). Results dataset an upward trend in annual scientific publications PD, with growth rate 50.24%. China, United States, Italy top three most productive countries/regions. journal “International Journal Of Molecular Sciences” articles, while “Movement Disorders” received highest number citations. Professor Keshavarzian A emerged as prolific author, Scheperjans F held h-index. Keyword highlighted “alpha-synuclein” frequent term, “mouse model,” “inflammation,” “risk” emerging topics. Additionally, “central nervous system” “intestinal bacterial overgrowth” attracted increasing attention. Conclusion This study examined current trends hotspots landscape research. Depression is a common mental disorder in children and adolescents, with global prevalence of approximately 33%, severely affecting their physical, health, academic performance. This study aims to identify assess the 100 most-cited articles (T100 articles) on depression adolescents. The T100 field were retrieved from SCI-E SSCI databases. A comprehensive analysis was conducted, including number citations, countries, journals, keywords, authors, topics. Between 1981 2021, child adolescent received 423 3949 citations. Most originated USA, Kovacs M as top-ranked author. University Pittsburgh Columbia published top two articles. 36 led by AMA Psychiatry. Co-occurrence keywords analyses reveal six key foci: Pathogenesis Depression, Treatment MDD Children, Early Childhood Treatment, Adolescent Manifestations, Gender Primary Care Considerations, pathogenesis future trend. Our research presents an exhaustive list most highly cited findings not only underscore significance international cooperation but also pressing need prioritize bolster preventive research, particularly development refinement early screening intervention programs.

Background Major depression disorder (MDD) and anxiety are common mental disorders that significantly affect the quality of life those who suffer from them, altering person’s normal functioning. From biological perspective, most classical hypothesis explaining their occurrence relies on neurotransmission hippocampal excitability alterations. However, around 30% MDD patients do not respond to medication targeting these processes. Over last decade, involvement inflammatory responses in pathogenesis has been strongly acknowledged, opening possibility tackling an immunological point view. In this context, regulatory T cells (Treg cells), which naturally maintain immune homeostasis by suppressing inflammation could be promising candidates for therapeutic use disorders. Methods To test hypothesis, C57BL/6 adult male mice were submitted stress protocols induce depressive anxiety-like behavior; chronic restriction (CRS), unpredictable (CUS). Some stressed received a single adoptive transfer Treg during protocols. Mouse behavior was analyzed through open field (OFT) forced swim (FST). Blood spleen samples collected cell analysis using cytometry, while brains study changes microglia immunohistochemistry. Results Mice CRS CUS develop depressive-like behavior, only exhibit lower frequencies circulating cells. Adoptive decreased OFT model, but FST neither two models. mice, administration lowered number hippocampus, increased due paradigm, restored its arborization. with no significant effect Conclusion Our results effector CD4 + morphology hippocampus add new evidence favor participation development suggest modulation key such as cells, have beneficial effects

Background Major depressive disorder (MDD) is a prevalent mental globally. Increasing evidence suggests that Environmental Metal (EM) play crucial role in MDD. Therefore, this study investigated the roles of barium (Ba), cesium (Cs), nickel (Ni), manganese (Mn), lead (Pb), mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd), and tin (Sn) etiology Methods The included 72 MDD patients 75 healthy controls (HCs) from Second People’s Hospital Zhumadian, China. Inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICP-MS) measured metal levels serum urine samples both groups. Results Significant differences EMs were observed between HCs. After adjusting for age, gender, BMI, logistic regression quantile models revealed significant associations In samples, higher Sn (OR = 1.22, p 0.044) increased risk, whereas Cs 0.02, < 0.001), Cd 0.06, 0.047), Mn 0.54, 0.016) decreased risk. Physical characteristics and perceptions of an environment can have enduring effects on one's mental health. The present study aimed to determine whether a set measures neighborhood safety – independent built features, parents' perception community cohesion, children's best related symptoms depression in young boys girls from Montréal, Québec. Data were the Quebec Adipose Lifestyle Investigation Youth (QUALITY) cohort. Participants aged 8 10 years (M = 9.5) at baseline (2005). Measures included: child depression, (child parentally reported), rater assessed visible disorder/neighborhood issues road features. Multiple linear regressions used examine relation between for (n 262) 212) follow-up time approximately 2 later 2008 after adjusting sex, age, body mass index, pubertal status, physical activity, family income, parent education, population density, land-use mix. Analyses sex stratified. Greater perceived was associated with lower both follow-up, greater cohesion baseline. These results not maintained multiple testing. Future research should elucidate more precise pathways linking among children consider differences across sexes.
