Bee pollen is characterized by an exceptional diversity and abundance of micronutrients bioactive phytochemicals. This richness remains very sparsely investigated, but accumulating evidence strongly supports a promising future for bee in human nutrition medicine. Epigenetic regulation among the most compelling biomedical topics that remain completely untapped derivative research. In our current research, we identified numerous ubiquitous compounds are consistently present this matrix, regardless its botanical geographical origins, have been well studied documented as epigenetic regulators recent years. Given relative newness both research studies within nutritional, pharmaceutical, medical sciences, review aims to bridge these valuable fields advance related experimental investigations. Historically known as neuronal support cells, astrocytes are now widely studied for their close structural and functional interactions with multiple neural cell types cerebral vessels where they maintain an ideal environment optimized brain function. In this commentary, we discuss our recent work in The Journal of Neuroscience (Sompol et al., 2023) that showed Ca2+ dysregulation astrocytes, well hyperactivation the Ca2+-dependent protein phosphatase calcineurin (CN) Nuclear Factor Activated T Cells (NFATs), a diet-induced hyperhomocystienemia (HHcy) mouse model Vascular Contributions to Cognitive Impairment Dementia (VCID). Intravital multiphoton imaging coupled whisker stimulation was used explore astrocyte signaling neurovascular function under active phase, fully awake conditions. Interestingly, evoked transients individual were greater, even though intercorrelated across networks impaired HHcy mice. Blockade astrocytic CN/NFAT reduced signs reactivity, normalized cerebrovascular function, improved hippocampal synaptic strength dependent cognition mice, revealing previously unrecognized deficit regarding neuron-astrocyte-vascular interactions. These findings strongly use targeting strategies mitigate pathophysiological changes associated VCID other Alzheimer's-related dementias.
