There is a relatively small body of literature that concerned with the extent to which students are actively engaged in online English learning. To address this issue, present study investigates 233 Chinese secondary school attending courses during pandemic and explores degree learners behaviorally, cognitively, emotionally, socially synchronous courses. Three basic psychological needs (autonomy, competence, relatedness) examined as antecedents learning engagement, behavioral intention hypothesized outcome. This takes mixed-methods approach, integrating quantitative data from questionnaires qualitative semi-structured interviews. A partial least squares (PLS)-structural equation modeling (SEM) technique was used test hypotheses proposed research model. The findings indicate that, firstly, whereas predict students’ four dimensions competence confirmed be strongest predicting factor. This research is aimed at examining high school students’ attitudes towards e-learning. Also, the current study investigated effects of online learning on general English. To achieve these objectives, Oxford Quick Placement Test (OQPT) was administered to 73 students, and 50 them who were intermediate level selected as participants. Then, participants randomly divided into two groups: one experimental group (EG) ( n=25 ) control (CG) id="M2">n=25 ). Engagement is an essential aspect of the learning process. To attain academic success, students must always be engaged. Because epidemic’s global spread, most has been moved online. Traditional today face a new challenge with proliferation online education. This abrupt adjustment may impact their behaviour and willingness to embrace change. Consequently, enthusiasm for studying decrease dramatically. During COVID-19, this study investigated level engagement among Jordanian EFL in virtual classrooms. A “student course questionnaire” was administered 602 university (males = 323, females 297). The results showed that Students generally had moderate during epidemic. While skills, emotional, interaction factors received engagement, only performance factor high level. Fewer than one-quarter acknowledged dissatisfaction English classes, whereas highest percentage reported being somewhat satisfied. study’s sample perceptions towards were statistically significant due gender presence teacher adds substantially development interactive communities and, as result, improvement students’ language skills. When teacher’s role creatively played, constant teacher-student arises. These findings taken into consideration when providing limitations recommendations.

The Covid-19 pandemic changed the way education was being taught. Due to school closures prevent spread of disease, system resorted distance learning as a grant students' process. This research article reports mixed-method study on technological resources and their impact motivation during online lessons. seeks explore perceptions regarding implementation some game-based platforms (Kahoot, Quizizz, Quizalize) EFL virtual classes determine these toward language learning. A convergent parallel design implemented gather quantitative qualitative data from twenty-seven participants simultaneously. four-point Likert scale questionnaire focus group were instruments employed collect this statistical descriptive information. results show that students perceived Kahoot, Quizalize useful, entertaining, fun, engaging tools.
