Academic misconduct is ubiquitous, a fortiori during crisis periods. The present research examines undergraduates’ learning motivation, based on Self-Determination Theory and personality traits factors, according to the Big Five Factor Model, affecting academic across different time spans: Before, during, after life-changing event. Using online questionnaires, we measured level of misconduct, 1090 social sciences students five spans pre-COVID-19, COVID-19 (before vaccination), (post long post). results showed significant differences in students’ self-reported levels among periods similar pre-COVID-19 post-COVID-19. Additionally, findings exhibited that external motivation significantly increases two out (agreeableness emotional stability) reduce their occurrences. We conclude higher education preparedness for integrity an emergency still desideratum ethical concerns should not be abandoned but rather fully addressed This could by instructors allocating tasks groups involving with pro-social personalities intrinsic serve as agents deterring misconduct.

This study examines the impact of instruction modality on student learning outcomes, with a focus disparities observed pre- and post-pandemic. Using administrative data from public university spanning seven pre-pandemic five post-pandemic semesters, analysis controls for endogenous sorting using fixed effects. The findings suggest that face-to-face (FtF) results in better performance, such as higher grades lower withdrawal rate.
