Cruise ships and other naval vessels include automated Internet of Things (IoT)-based evacuation systems for the passengers crew to assist them in case emergencies accidents. The technical challenges assisting safety during various aspects such as sensor failures, imperfections sound or display that are used direct evacuees, timely selection optimum routes well computation communication delays may occur IoT infrastructure due intense activities an emergency. In addition, emergency, evacuees be confused a panic, make mistakes following directions offered by system. Therefore, purpose this work is analyze effect two important can have adverse on passengers’ time, namely (a) computer processing delays, (b) errors made instructions. approach we take uses simulation with representative existing cruise ship model, which dynamically computes best exit paths each passenger, deadline-driven Adaptive Navigation Strategy (ANS). Our results reveal evacuees’ reception instructions significantly increase total time needed passenger evacuation. contrast, observe behavior also affect duration, but less evacuate passengers. These findings demonstrate importance design way takes into account all realistic features ship’s indoor environment, including having high-performance data will not result congestion delays.
