Over the past few years, considerable emphasis has been put on decarbonization, which, in context of recent events Europe, proves that mixing energy sources is best strategy. This article discusses ways which individual EU member states manage their source diversification, while comparing levels fossil fuels and renewable (RESs) usage. The research data was acquired from Eurostat website comprises 15 indicators describing use both conventional European Union, 2019. study employs taxonomical methods, such as ranking cluster analysis. authors forward a hypothesis approach resources several ways. There are countries take advantage traditional (Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Italy). However, there group relies single exclusively uses either (Poland) or (Sweden, Finland). analyses enabled isolation country clusters with similar activities strategies.

Abstract This article has the general objective of estimating efficiency urban solid waste management in 940 Brazilian municipalities through Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) technique and specific objectives: (i) to estimate scores; (ii) compare performance between different groups municipalities; (iii) analyze profile efficient from perspective guidelines Law 12,305/2010 socio-economic environmental indicators. The used was DEA with output-oriented variable scale return modeling. results showed higher scores populations above 500,000 inhabitants. score variation ranged 0.5 (municipalities <10,000 inhabitants) 0.9 more than inhabitants). Of sample set, only 12.34% were considered efficient, when analyzing group, it found that adherence legislation not a major factor achieving efficiency. Graphical abstract

In the face of current energy crisis and need to implement objectives climate policy, it seems necessary examine efficiency. Accordingly, this article aims assess efficiency European Union (EU) countries. The assessment is performed using data envelopment analysis (DEA), a non-parametric method measurement relative Ireland recorded highest both in 2013 2020. average all countries assessed was lower 2020 than 2013. number fully efficient had decreased compared differentiation terms increased research made possible express efficiencies single indicator applied establish countries’ rankings. lowest-ranked states are encouraged improve their technologies for transforming inputs into outputs following benchmark Moreover, new approach defining measuring proposed. We define as ratio services, goods and/or obtained input. analysing efficiency, we emphasise dynamic perspectives rather static ones.

The purpose of this paper is to establish if Marshallian and Jacobian knowledge spillovers affect job creation in the green energy sector. Whether these two effects exist important for number jobs created related fields pushed away other sectors. In analysis, production efficiency, terms spillovers, from inventions solar, wind explored through data envelopment analysis (DEA), based on Malmquist productivity index, tobit regression. A panel dataset American European firms over period 2002–2017 used. contribution literature show role same technology sector (Marshallian externalities), more diversified activity (Jacobian externalities). Since previous empirical evidence concerning innovation efficiency yet weak, attempts bridge gap. findings suggest negative externalities, while externalities have no statistical impact process. are strategic importance governments who developing industrial strategies renewable energy.

China’s construction industry emits a huge amount of carbon dioxide with the extensive and rapid development, emissions from sector have become social problem. This article evaluates emission regional by three-stage DEA method. The research results indicate that environmental factors random error seriously affect efficiency industry. Eliminated above factors, mean has tendency rising firstly then decreasing, which increased 0.67 in 2010 to 0.76 2014 decreased 0.66 2019 third stage. On whole, low efficiency. In regions, Eastern region highest technology value among three followed Middle West region. Therefore, key method increase is improve management change growth mode.

Objective: This study aims to develop a strategy for improving the energy efficiency of national economies through application DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis) models. The research focuses on adopting best practices from European countries in context SDGs. Theoretical Framework: is grounded framework sustainable development and efficiency, focusing UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 12). models are utilized assess across various economies, considering economic, environmental, energy-related factors. Method: were applied by analyzing input variables such as intensity, CO₂ emissions, consumption. model used comparative analysis 38 countries, with special attention weights (λ) VRS model, allowing variable returns scale. data sourced Eurostat World Bank. Results Discussion: results indicated that like Ireland Albania serve key reference units Ukraine, highlighting effectiveness transitioning renewable sources reducing dependence fossil fuels. demonstrated inefficient could improve their performance following strategies units, specifically consumption emissions. Research Implications: provides practical insights into how less efficient can enhance policies successful nations, ultimately contributing global sustainability goals. Originality/Value: contributes literature offering structured methodology enhancing modeling. It emphasizes significance presents applicable broad range countries.
