Sustained release is highly desired for "efficacious, safe and convenient" drug delivery, particularly those anticancer molecules with toxicity. In this study, a modified coaxial electrospraying process was developed to coat hydrophobic lipid, i.e., stearic acid (SA), on composites composed of the tamoxifen citrate (TC) insoluble polymeric matrix ethylcellulose (EC). Compared electrosprayed TC-EC composite microparticles M1, SA-coated hybrid M2 were able provide an improved TC sustained-release profile. The 30% 90% loaded time periods extended 3.21 h 19.43 M2, respectively, which significantly longer than provided by M1 (0.88 9.98 h, respectively). morphology, inner structure, physical state, compatibility components particles disclosed through SEM, TEM, XRD, FTIR. Based analyses, mechanism multiple factors co-acting suggested, include reasonable selections organizations lipid excipient, blank SA shell loading, regularly round shape, also high density. reported protocols pioneered brand-new manner developing sustained delivery hybrids combination cellulose gels using electrospraying.
