During the progression of knee osteoarthritis (OA), synovium and infrapatellar fat pad (IFP) can serve as source for Substance P (SP) calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP), two important pain-transmitting, immune, inflammation modulating neuropeptides. Epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) remains a leading cause of gynecologic mortality. Despite advances in treatment, metastatic progression and resistance to standard therapies significantly worsen patient outcomes. Epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT) is critical process metastasis, enabling cells gain invasive migratory capabilities, often driven by changing miRNA expression involved the regulation pathological processes like drug resistance. Targeted PARP inhibitors (PARPi) have improved outcomes, particularly BRCA-mutated DNA repair-deficient tumors; however, limited efficacy advanced stages remain challenges. Recent studies highlight potential synergy PARPi with damage response (DDR) inhibitors, such as ATR CHK1 which disrupt cell survival pathways under stress.
