Artemisia campestris subsp. (tuguft) is a medicinal plant traditionally used in Algerian medicine. This study investigates the chemical composition and bioactivity of its essential oil (ACEO). Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) analysis identified key compounds, including linalyl acetate (2.92%), geranyl (2.45%), eucalyptol (1.38%). ACEO demonstrated significant antioxidant activity, with IC50 values 11.09 μg/mL (DPPH), 15.81 (FRAP), 22.70 (β-carotene). It also enhanced peroxidase activity by 82.67 U/g. The anti-inflammatory effects were confirmed an 18.87 μg/mL. Notably, silico molecular docking revealed that 3-cyclopentyl-N-(2-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)ethyl) exhibits strong binding affinity to phosphoinositide 3-kinase gamma, target for pancreatic cancer therapy, suggesting potential anticancer activity. These findings underscore therapeutic ACEO, highlighting antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, properties.

Rosmarinus officinalis L. has been widely used as a spice to enhance the shelf-life of food for centuries. While existing research in literature suggests that primary antibacterial component this plant is its essential oil (EO), there lack comparative studies employing both vitro and silico approaches evaluate antimicrobial, antioxidant, anticancer, antidiabetic properties R. leaf EO (ROLEO) methanolic extract (ROLME). The present study investigates bioactive components biological activities ROLEO ROLME using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry analysis. Additionally, total phenolic content (TPC) flavonoid (TFC) were quantified, their antidiabetic, evaluated studies. GC-MS analysis revealed 20 compounds ROLME, compared 73 ROLEO. TPC was higher, measuring 49.34 ± 2.84 mg GAE per gram dry weight extract, which had 38.13 3.31 extract. TFC measured at 24 1.47 QE/g weight, higher than 19 weight. demonstrated superior antioxidant activity low concentrations greater by suppressing actions α-amylase α-glucosidase enzymes. Moreover, showed promising anticancer effects lower doses, capabilities, particularly against Gram-positive bacteria. Molecular docking have identified key exhibit significant bioactivity. Among these compounds, 1H-Cycloprop[e]azulen-4-ol, decahydro-1,1,4,7-tetramethyl-, [1ar-(1α,4β,4aβ,7α,7aβ,7bα)]-demonstrated highest α-amylase, while thymol exhibited strongest caspase-3 E. coli gyrase B. Overall, molecular pharmacokinetic inhibitory on caspase-3, B, with favorable drug-like properties. These findings suggest may serve basis development innovative synthetic medications, offering valuable insights pharmaceutical industry design novel treatments various diseases.

ABSTRACT Rosmarinus officinalis L. (rosemary) is a widely used medicinal plant known for its antioxidant, antimicrobial, and anti‐inflammatory properties. This study evaluates the bioactive potential of essential oil (EO), methanolic (ME), aqueous (AE) extracts. GC‐MS analysis identified α‐pinene (21.37%), bornanone (12.73%), eucalyptol (8.28%) as major EO components, while HPLC revealed ME's richness in salicylic acid (5.11 μg/mg) rutin (0.43 μg/mg). Antioxidant activity, assessed via DPPH FRAP assays, showed ME with strongest radical scavenging capacity (IC 50 = 27.30 ± 2.4%) reducing power 90.88 6.7%). Antimicrobial testing most effective, particularly against Staphylococcus aureus (33 mm inhibition zone) Bacillus subtilis (32 mm), AE exhibited moderate activity. Pseudomonas aeruginosa was resistant to all Additionally, demonstrated notable activity 55.88 1.02%). These findings highlight rosemary rich source compounds strong pharmacological potential, positioning best potent an effective agent.

Humulus lupulus, or hops, is a vital ingredient in brewing, contributing bitterness, flavor, and aroma. The female plants produce strobiles rich essential oils acids, along with bioactive compounds like polyphenols, humulene, myrcene, which offer health benefits. This study examined the aromatic profiles of five hop varieties grown Brazil versus their countries origin. Fifty grams pelletized hops from each strain were collected analyzed using HS-SPME/GC-MS to identify volatile compounds, followed by statistical analysis PLS-DA ANOVA. identified 330 found significant differences among different regions. For instance, H. Mittelfrüher has fruity herbaceous profile, while German-grown variety more herbal spicy. Similar variations noted Magnum, Nugget, Saaz, Sorachi Ace varieties. findings underscore impact terroir on profiles, Brazilian-grown displaying distinct compared counterparts origin, including notes α-acid content.

Rosemary is one of the most important medicinal plants for natural therapy due to its multiple pharmacological properties, such as antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, neuroprotective, antiproliferative, antitumor, hepato- and nephroprotective, hypolipidemic, hypocholesterolemic, antihypertensive, anti-ischemic, hypoglycemic, radioprotective, antimicrobial, antiviral, antiallergic, wound healing properties. Our study reports first time, over a 12-month period, identification quantification polyphenols investigation antioxidant acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibitory activities Rosmarinus officinalis L. species harvested at flowering from flora southwestern Romania (Oltenia Region). Identification polyphenolic acids was made by ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry (UHPLC/MS). Total phenolic content determined using spectrophotometric method. In situ anticholinesterase were evaluated 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) AChE assay, respectively, on high-performance thin-layer chromatography (HPTLC) plates. DPPH radical scavenging activity also assessed spectrophotometrically.
