Abstract This paper extracts alginate of Dictyota mertensii (DM), brown macroalgae found on the north coast northeastern Brazil. A Composite Central Design (CCD) associated with Response Surface Methodology (RSM) was employed to optimize extraction process different fractions alginate, in conditions time, temperature, and concentration Na2CO3. Yield (𝜂), sulfate content, intrinsic viscosity ([𝜂]), viscosimetric molar mass (Mv), color parameters (a*, b* e L*), M/G ratio are model response variables. The DM algae has its chemical composition expressed. surfaces plotted from variables studied, quadratic models were predicted, influence factors is analyzed, subjected analysis variance (ANOVA) F-test at 95% confidence. antioxidant potential evaluated based scavenging stable free radical 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH). maximum yield 29.28±0.02 %, content ranged 3.50±0,00 % 12.33±0.29 %. values [𝜂] Mv 5.84±0.06 dL.g-1 278.00±2.66 kDa, respectively. showed a dark <1, indicating that extracted provides rigid compact gels. The main goal of this study was to assess the bioactive and polysaccharide compositions, along with antioxidant antibacterial potentials, five seaweeds collected from northeastern coast Algeria. Through Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy analysis X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy, investigated elemental composition these their chemical structure. In addition, compared identified biochemical makeup seaweed by using cutting-edge methods like tandem mass spectrometry ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography, it searched for new sources nutritionally valuable compounds. According study’s findings, Sargassum muticum contains highest levels extractable compounds, showing a phenolic compound content 235.67 ± 1.13 µg GAE·mg−1 total sugar 46.43 0.12% DW. Both S. Dictyota dichotoma have high concentrations good polyphenols, such as vanillin chrysin. Another characteristic that sets brown algae apart is composition. It showed Cladophora laetevirens has an extracted 12.07% capacity scavenge ABTS+ radicals value 78.65 0.96 µg·mL−1, indicating activity. terms activity, excellent growth inhibition. conclusion, all species under investigation exhibited unique strengths, highlighting variety advantageous characteristics seaweeds, especially muticum.

Abstract The present study elucidates the bioactive metabolites, antioxidants, and antibacterial potential of selected seaweeds – Kappaphycus alvarezii , Caulerpa chemnitzia Sargassum tenerrimum collected from southwest coast India. Biomolecules were extracted using six solvents: hexane, dichloromethane, ethyl acetate, acetone, methanol, ethanol. Among these, ethanol proved to be most efficient extraction solvent. Notably, ethanolic extract S . exhibited high phenolic flavonoid contents, contributing its potent antioxidant properties. In contrast, extracts C rich in tannins, demonstrating marked activity. Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry profiling identified approximately 42 compounds with antimicrobial, antioxidant, anticancer, antidiabetic, cardioprotective Key included stigmasta-5, 24(28)-dien-3-ol (3β, 24Z), cholesterol margarate, arachidonic acid, squalene, 1-hexadecanol, δ-tocopherol, all which hold significant nutraceutical cosmetic value. Furthermore, susceptibility tests against nine bacterial strains revealed that K was particularly effective gram-positive bacteria, while showed considerable efficacy both gram-negative strains.
