The utilization of novel materials in the biofuel production domain has been regarded as a significant advancement catalyst development. Incorporating lipases biodiesel manufacturing is often viewed cost-restrictive phase since expenses associated with recovering these catalysts can render market expectations unfeasible. Within this investigation, mesoporous silica (MPS) particles were assessed supporting medium for immobilizing commercial lipase, subsequent to their ethyl ester synthesis. Initially, was achieved through co-precipitation technique at consistent pH and subsequently chosen an immobilization support enzyme. characterization biocatalyst produced performed using various analytical methods including X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), BET analysis. Novozym 435 lipase then immobilized within matrices, followed by transesterification process algal oil derived from Nannochloropsis. resulting samples demonstrated compliance standards, exhibiting conversion rate exceeding 94.8%. Additionally, properties such density (0.93 g.cm-3) viscosity (5.01 mm2.s-1) satisfied specifications mandated ASTM application. Experimental planning techniques showed that increasing loading temperatures between 38 48 °C resulted higher rates esters. This confirms effectiveness enzymatic generating primary fatty acid esters, even residual lipid feedstocks.

Summary Nannochloropsis oceanica is an industrially relevant marine microalga rich in eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA, a valuable ω‐3 polyunsaturated fatty acid), yet the algal production potential remains to be unlocked. Here we engineered N. synthesize high‐value carotenoid astaxanthin independent of high‐light (HL) induction for achieving multifaceted benefits. By screening β‐carotenoid ketolases and hydroxylases various origins, strategically manipulating compartmentalization, fusion patterns, linkers enzyme pair, remarkable 133‐fold increase content was achieved . Iterative metabolic engineering efforts led further increases synthesis up 7.3 mg g −1 , highest reported microalgae under nonstress conditions. Astaxanthin found photosystem components allowed alga HL resistance augmented EPA production. Besides, co‐production by through fed‐batch cultivation approach. Our findings unveil untapped as robust, light‐driven chassis constitutive provide feasible strategies concurrent multiple biochemicals from CO 2 thereby paving way sustainable biotechnological applications this alga.

Contaminants of emerging concern (CECs) pose a potential risk to human and environmental health. Microalgae bioremediation is promising approach for transforming or removing contaminants from the environment, while contributing circular economy. In this study, Nannochloropsis sp. was effectively used simultaneous removal six CECs: paracetamol, ibuprofen, imidacloprid, methylparaben bisphenol A at 10 µg mL−1 triclosan 0.5 synthetic wastewater, which were able survive under such concentrations, higher than those commonly found in environment (up 2.82 methylparaben). High efficiencies reached (100%) (93 ± 2%), paracetamol 30 1%, 64 2% 49 5% removed, respectively. Subsequently, lipids extracted, FAME profile characterised using GS-MS. The main fatty acids identified after hexadecadienoic acid isomers (C16:2), palmitic (C16), linoleic (C18:2) γ-linolenic (C18:3). absence oleic stearic noticed, suggesting an alteration lipidic due contaminant exposure. By exploring quantification future work, applications extracted can be explored, further demonstrating feasibility process.
