Abstract An acute infectious disease of northern sheatfish ( Silurus soldatovi ) was found in a commercial aquaculture pond Tianjin, China. Herein, two dominant bacterial strains were isolated from naturally diseased and identified as Aeromonas veronii Vibrio cholerae . Seven healthy seven fish that collected the used for gut microbiota analysis by high‐throughput 16S rRNA gene sequencing. The α‐diversity indices (ACE, Chao 1, Shannon) did not differ significantly between p > 0.05), but significant separation observed them when β ‐ diversity population performed. demonstrated elevation relative abundances , Blautia Megamonas decrease Cetobacterium Bacteroides Chryseolinea Ralstonia Pseudomonas compared with < 0.05). Linear discriminant effect size showed microbial marker species order Aeromonadales, family Aeromonadaceae, genus functional profiles community predicted using PICRUSt2 indicated disturbance caused alteration its fish.

This study evaluated the microbial viability of fish gut microbiota in both digesta (faecal) and mucosal samples using a modified propidium monoazide (PMA) protocol, followed by 16S ribosomal RNA (rRNA) gene sequencing.Digesta from farmed yellowtail kingfish (Seriola lalandi) were collected PMA treatment was applied prior to DNA extraction differentiate active nonviable cells samples. All then sequenced standard rRNA approach. The contained significantly different bacterial communities, with higher diversity observed In addition, reduced richness depleted constituents typically considered be important within fish, such as Lactobacillales Clostridales taxa. These findings suggest that members may not microbiota. particular, several beneficial lactic acid bacteria (LAB) identified cells, potentially influencing functional potential microbiota.Standardizing methods for characterizing are paramount order compare studies. this study, we showed sample type influence communities found Our also microbes previously described constituents. As result, these factors should future studies better evaluate associated host.

Trachinotus blochii is a high-value tropical mariculture species. The present study evaluated the gut microbial impact of therapeutic exposure (80 mg/day/kg biomass for 10 days) to oxytetracycline, most common aquaculture antibiotic in T. blochii. cultivable counts, α-diversity measures taxonomic and functional metagenomics, dysbiosis (MD) index, taxon abundances showed resilience microbiota at 16–26 days treatment. A significant reduction bacterial abundance, diversity measures, Firmicutes Actinobacteria an increase γ-Proteobacteria was recorded on 6th 11th day increased metagenomic stress signatures, decreased beneficial abundances, abundance pathways energy metabolism, MD index indicated short-term transient during initial withdrawal, warranting health management measures. Therapeutic reduced fish pathogens, including Vibrio spp., kanamycin ampicillin-resistant bacteria. Strikingly, oxytetracycline treatment did not tetracycline-resistant counts predicted tetracycline resistance encoding genes gut, illustrating that application would pose risk context antimicrobial short term. Altogether, provides foundation develop suitable minimization tactics sustainable aquaculture.
