Polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) are vital dietary elements that play a significant role in human nutrition. They highly regarded for their positive contributions to overall health and well-being. Beyond the fact they provide substantial supply of energy body (a saturated fats can also perform), these unsaturated and, especially, essential ones involved cell membrane structure, blood pressure regulation, coagulation; participate proper functioning immune system assimilation fat-soluble vitamins; influence synthesis pro- anti-inflammatory substances; protect cardiovascular system. Modern diets like Western diet American rich found especially fast food products, sweets, processed foods, has led an increase prevalence metabolic diseases worldwide (obesity, type II diabetes, gout, disease). Nutritionists have drawn attention moderate consumption need intake detriment ones. This paper examines biochemical roles polyunsaturated fats, particularly acids, contrasts benefits with detrimental effects fat overconsumption. Furthermore, it highlights necessity shifts towards increased PUFA mitigate global burden diet-related issues. The co-occurrence PUFAs polyphenols plant-based foods sophistication nature’s design. These bioactive compounds not randomly distributed but present humans consumed together historically. From traditional Mediterranean, which pairs olive oil (PUFAs polyphenols) vegetables legumes, Asian cuisines combining sesame seeds turmeric, cultural practices long harnessed this natural synergy.

Omega-9 fatty acids represent one of the main mono-unsaturated (MUFA) found in plant and animal sources. They are synthesized endogenously humans, though not fully compensating all body requirements. Consequently, they considered as partially essential acids. MUFA a healthier alternative to saturated fats have several health benefits, including anti-inflammatory anti-cancer characters. This review capitalizes on major omega-9 pharmacological activities context inflammation management for its different natural forms dietary The observed effects reported oleic acid (OA), mead acid, erucic were directed attenuate physiological pathological conditions such wound healing eye by altering production inflammatory mediators, modulating neutrophils infiltration, VEGF effector pathway. OA action mechanisms anti-tumor agent cancer types compiled first time based anti- pro-carcinogenic actions. We conclude that pathways likely explain anti-proliferative activity suppression migration proliferation breast cells, well stimulation tumor suppressor genes. Such warrant further supportive clinical epidemiological studies confirm beneficial outcomes consumption especially over long-term intervention.

Over the last three decades, consumption of total and saturated fat has steadily declined in Western diets as a proportion calories intake. At same time, omega (ω)-6 fatty acid intake risen at expense ω-3 acids, resulting an ω-6/ω-3 ratio 20:1 or higher. The observed changes acids coincide with significantly increased prevalence coronary heart disease, hypertension, cancer, diabetes, obesity, rheumatoid arthritis, autoimmune neurodegenerative disorders. low may be attributed to their absence from diet lack awareness about suitable dietary sources. Oxidative stress is a common event involved in cancer pathophysiology, frequently accompanied by unique lipid metabolic reprogramming phenomena. caused mainly an imbalance between the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and antioxidant system cells. Emerging evidence has reported that oxidative regulates expression activity metabolism-related enzymes, leading to alteration cellular metabolism; this involves significant increase fatty acid synthesis shift way which lipids are taken up utilized. The dysregulation metabolism provides abundant intermediates synthesize biological macromolecules for rapid proliferation cells; moreover, it contributes maintenance intracellular redox homeostasis producing variety reducing agents. Moreover, derivatives metabolites play critical roles signal transduction within cells tumor microenvironment evades immune destruction facilitates invasion metastasis. These findings suggest close relationship during malignant progression cancers. Abstract Objective To determine whether high flow nasal cannula (HFNC) oxygenation can reduce the incidence of hypoxia during sedated gastrointestinal endoscopy in patients with obesity. Design Multicentre, randomised, parallel group trial. Setting Three tertiary hospitals Shanghai, China. Participants 1000 adult obesity (body mass index ≥28) who were scheduled for endoscopy. Interventions randomly allocated to receive regular or HFNC a procedure propofol and low dose sufentanil. Main outcome measures The primary was (75%≤SpO 2 <90% <60 s) procedure. Secondary outcomes included incidences subclinical respiratory depression (90%≤SpO <95% any duration) severe (SpO <75% duration 75%≤SPO >60 Results From 6 May 2021 26 2023, 984 (mean age 49.2 years; 36.9% (n=363) female) completed study analysed. Compared oxygenation, reduced from 21.2% (103/487) 2.0% (10/497) (difference −19.14, 95% confidence interval −23.09 −15.36; P<0.001), 36.3% (177/487) 5.6% (28/497) −30.71, −35.40 −25.92; 4.1% (20/487) 0% (0/497) −4.11%, −6.26 −2.48; P<0.001). Other sedation related adverse events did not differ between two groups. Conclusions In obesity, via significantly hypoxia, depression, without increasing other events.
