ABSTRACT Objective: To verify the association between low self-reported sleep quality (LSQ) and fall in middle-aged older adults every half-decade of life. Method: A cross-sectional study was conducted using data from first wave (2015–2016) Brazilian Longitudinal Study Aging (ELSI-Brazil), which is nationally representative. The sample consisted 8,950 participants who were allocated into eight age groups: 50–54, 55–59, 60–64, 65–69, 70–74, 75–79, 80–84, ≥ 85 years. questionnaires used included International Physical Activity Questionnaire short version. Fisher’s exact test followed by binary logistic regression analysis performed to identify odds ratio for occurrence, controlled confounding variables. Results: Individuals aged 50–105 years (63.6 ± 10.2 years), 57.0% females 43.0% males, participated this study. Overall, 21.5% experienced at least one fall. relative frequency classified as having high or LSQ remained constant across each exhibited a statistically significant OR (p < 0.05) falls groups up 84, even after accounting Conclusion: significantly associated with an increased occurrence >50 years, but not regardless sex physical activity level.

Abstract Objective This study aimed to investigate the longitudinal bi-directional relationship between self-reported restrictive eating behaviours and sleep characteristics within a sample of UK adolescents from Millennium Cohort Study (MCS). Method Using Structural Equation Modelling approach, present investigated prospective associations individual (e.g., timing, onset latency, social jetlag) at age 14 17. Moreover, association (age 14) quality 17) was tested. A mediation analysis conducted explore role depressive symptoms in these relationships. In total, N = 6,041 young people provided self-report data both timepoints (sweep 6 & 7) subsample 2,164 additionally diary on their over two separate 24 h periods. Results Sleep indicators did not significantly predict changes across time. However, engagement predicted poorer self-perceived three years later (β 0.06, SE 0.01, p <.01). Depressive fully mediated this (indirect effect: β 0.05, 0.04, <.001). Discussion The provides evidence for positive subsequent large, general population sample. Findings suggest mood as potential target tertiary prevention when addressing an disorder risk factor adolescents.

This study evaluated the effects of circuit resistance training (CRT), a vegetarian/Mediterranean diet (VegMedD), and empagliflozin on Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) in older adults with Type 2 Diabetes (T2DM). 67 participants from CEV-65 trial (≥65 years, 61 % female) were randomly assigned to CRT, VegMedD, or for 10 weeks. Assessments included RMR, medical, metabolic, nutritional, anthropometric functional measurements. RMR changes analyzed using paired t-tests, effect sizes, repeated analysis variance. No significant differences found between groups at baseline post-intervention minor increases 16 (CRT) 25 (VegMeD/empagliflozin).

Little is known about the role of timing physical activity in female reproductive disorders. These disorders include polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), heavy menstrual bleeding (HMB), endometriosis, infertility, and pregnancy-related This study aims to investigate associations patterns with diseases. A total 49,540 participants from UK Biobank valid accelerometer data were enrolled at baseline. Activity defined based on moderate-to-vigorous intensity (MVPA) throughout day. Participants categorized into four groups according their MVPA: "morning, evening, mixed, midday-afternoon", midday-afternoon group serving as reference. Cox proportional hazards models utilized evaluate association between During a median follow-up 12.6 years, 1044 cases diseases documented. After adjustment for potential confounders, compared women exercise, morning exercise mixed-timing associated lower risks (HRmorning=0.81, 95% CI: 0.67-0.98; HRmixed=0.79, 0.69-0.91, P-trend < 0.05). Abstract Purpose of Review This review explores the complex interplay between genetic predispositions to obesity, circadian rhythms, metabolic regulation, and sleep. It highlights how factors underlying obesity exacerbate dysfunction through misalignment examines promising interventions mitigate these effects. Recent Findings Genome-wide association Studies (GWAS) have identified numerous Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms (SNPs) associated with traits, attributing 40–75% heritability body mass index (BMI). These findings illuminate critical links clocks, processes. SNPs in clock-related genes influence pathways, disruptions rhythms—driven by poor sleep hygiene or erratic eating patterns—amplifying dysfunction. Circadian synchronized 24-h light–dark cycle, regulate key activities, including glucose metabolism, lipid storage, energy utilization. Genetic mutations external disruptions, such as irregular habits, can destabilize promoting weight gain disorders. Summary individuals disrupts release hormones, leptin insulin, impairing hunger regulation fat storage. Interventions like time-restricted feeding (TRF) structured physical activity offer strategies restore harmony, improve health, obesity-related risks.
