Consumers today seek safe functional foods with proven health-promoting properties. Current evidence shows that a healthy diet can effectively alleviate oxidative stress levels and reduce inflammatory markers, thereby preventing the occurrence of many types cancer, hypertension, cardiovascular neurological pathologies. Nevertheless, as fruits vegetables are mainly consumed fresh, they serve vectors for transmission pathogenic microorganisms associated various disease outbreaks. As result, there has been surge in interest microbiome vegetables. Therefore, given growing sweet cherries, since their microbial communities have largely ignored, primary purpose this study is to investigate culturome at maturity stages first time. A total 55 were isolated from cherry fruit, comprising 23 bacteria 32 fungi species. Subsequently, selected isolates molecularly identified by amplifying 16S rRNA gene ITS region. Furthermore, it was observed became more diverse fruit matured. The most abundant taxa included Pseudomonas Ralstonia among bacteria, Metschnikowia, Aureobasidium, Hanseniaspora fungi.

Cytokines play a crucial role in the structure and function of blood vessels hypertension. Hypertension damages by mechanisms linked to shear forces, activation renin-angiotensin-aldosterone sympathetic nervous systems, oxidative stress, proinflammatory milieu that lead generation neoantigens damage-associated molecular patterns, ultimately triggering release numerous cytokines. Damage-associated patterns are recognized PRRs (pattern recognition receptors) activate inflammatory endothelial cells, smooth muscle perivascular nerves, adipose tissue. Activated vascular cells also cytokines express factors attract macrophages, dendritic lymphocytes vessels. differentiated T into Th1, Th17, Th22 secondary lymphoid organs migrate vessels, releasing specific further contribute dysfunction remodeling. This chronic inflammation alters profile making them dysfunctional. Here, we provide an overview how hypertension impacting vasculature. Furthermore, explore clinical perspectives about modulation as potential therapeutic intervention specifically target hypertension-linked dysfunction.

Background/Objectives: Obesity is linked to a higher risk of cognitive impairment. The objective this single blind randomized trial was evaluate the impact dark sweet cherry (DSC) intake on function in obese adults. Methods: Participants (body mass index (BMI): 30-40 kg/m2, >18 years, without chronic diseases and/or antibiotic use) consumed 200 mL DSC drink with 3 g powder (n = 19) or an isocaloric placebo 21) twice daily for 30 days. Cognitive assessed at Day 1 (D1) and (D30) using standardized tests NeuroTracker (NT) 3D training program. Blood biomarkers related health (neurotensin, substance p, oxytocin) circadian rhythm (melatonin cortisol) were D1 D30 Luminex multiplex bead-based immunoassay. Results: supplementation significantly improved working memory concentration, as indicated by scores digit span forward (DSF, p 0.006) backward (DSB, 0.01) tests. However, processing speed, sustained attention, visual spatial skills, through trail making (TMT) symbol substitution (DSST) tests, well performance (VCP) evaluated NT program, showed no significant differences between groups. Neurotensin, associated deficits, increased both groups but only group (p 0.007). Similarly, melatonin groups, reaching significance 0.02), it correlated positively IFNγ, suggesting compensatory response inflammation. Conclusions: These findings suggest may enhance specific functions Further clinical trials are needed confirm these results.

This study presents an innovative approach to the sustainable valorization of industrial sweet cherry (Prunus avium L.) waste from Vignola Region, Italy, transforming what is typically discarded into a high-value bioactive resource. Unlike conventional extractions, our hydroethanolic extract (VCE) was obtained entire waste, including pericarp, pulp, and stone, as generated by processing. full-fruit extraction strategy represents novel efficient use agricultural by-products, aligning with circular bioeconomy principles. Sweet cherries are known for their phenolic richness, spectrophotometric assays (TPC, TFC, reducing power, DPPH, ABTS) confirmed extract’s antioxidant capacity. In vitro studies using RAW 264.7 macrophages revealed no cytotoxic effects (MTT assay), along significant anti-inflammatory activity, evidenced reduced ROS NO production downregulation iNOS COX-2. Western blotting showed inhibition NF-κB nuclear translocation MAPK pathway signaling. Additionally, agarose gel electrophoresis protection against oxidative DNA damage. UPLC-MS/MS analysis identified sakuranetin, aequinetin, dihydrowogonin most representative compounds in VCE. Molecular docking simulations strong specific binding affinities these p65 key targets. These findings highlight whole waste—including pit—as potent source promising nutraceutical pharmaceutical applications.
