There is a research gap in understanding the relationship between nutrient deficiency and food insecurity among adolescent girls Afghanistan. The objective of this study was to investigate associations deficiencies middle high school-aged Kabul. We conducted cross-sectional 380 randomly selected 11-18-year-old attending public schools grades 6-12. assessed girls' insecurity, intake, socioeconomic status, physical activity. Nutrient consumption calculated using Nutritionist IV software. Statistical analyses, including one-way analysis variance, Chi-square tests, t-tests, were used assess association dietary intake insecurity. More than half (52.9%) participants insecure, with 35.8% experiencing hunger 17.1% without hunger. Vitamin B3, C, selenium, iron had highest sensitivity, specificity, accuracy best indicators most prevalent vitamin B9 E, calcium, magnesium, zinc inadequacies. Food security positively associated fruit, vitamins E K, dairy products (e.g., milk, yogurt, cheese), meat chicken, meat, red egg), nut intake. Our findings suggest that Kabul may benefit from programs enrich nutrients such as zinc, which found be deficiencies. These highlight importance addressing

Introduction: The triple burden of malnutrition (TBM) is a growing public health issue worldwide. This study examined the prevalence and association between undernutrition, overnutrition micronutrient deficiencies (MNDs), associated demographic socioeconomic determinants, among Vietnamese children, using nationally representative General Nutrition Survey 2020. Methods: Data on anthropometric parameters, micronutrients biomarkers, indicators for 7,289 children aged 6 months to 9 years old were analysed. Determinants assessed logistic regressions reported as odds ratio (OR) [95% confidence intervals (CI)]. Results: Overall, 12.7%, 10.5% 4.7% stunted, underweight wasted/thin; while 7.3% 7.1% living with overweight obesity, respectively. Low serum zinc, anaemia iron deficiency (ID) common MNDs observed, affecting 53.1%, 15.2% 13.9% participants. Older 2-4 [OR (95% CI): 1.43 (1.20, 1.72)], ethnic minorities [5.94 (3.78, 9.36)] in mountainous areas [5.06 (1.18, 14.42)] had increased stunting, whereas reduced found from richest quintile [0.13 (0.05, 0.32)]. Similar determinants be MNDs. Males [1.43 (1.16, 1.76)], 5-9 [10.02 (6.71, 14.97) [2.91 7.05)] overweight. Children anaemia, low retinol zinc stunting than non-micronutrient deficient (adjusted OR=1.43-1.71). Compared without MNDs, those ≥3 almost double underweight, ≤3 OR=0.38-0.60). Conclusions: Significant variation inequalities child identified. National policies programmes Vietnam should address age-specific, sex-specific, geographical disparities accelerate progress reducing malnutrition.

Abstract Food poverty and insecurity have become a public health emergency in many high-income countries. News media coverage can shape political views towards such issues. Articles contained from government officials charities, individuals’ experiences absent. this highlight that major shift print is required.
