Cervi cornu extracts have been used in traditional medicine for the treatment of various disorders, including osteoporosis. However, since it is not easy to separate active ingredients, limited research has conducted on their functional properties. In this study, we extracted low-molecular-weight (843 Da) collagen NP-2007 from cervi by enzyme hydrolyzation enhance absorption and evaluated therapeutic effect monosodium iodoacetate-induced rat osteoarthritis (OA) model. was orally administered at 50, 100, 200 mg/kg 21 days. We showed that production matrix metalloproteinase-2, -3, -9, decreased after treatment. The levels tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α, interleukin (IL)-1β, IL-6, prostaglandin E2 were also reduced NP-2007. Furthermore, administration resulted effective preservation both synovial membrane knee cartilage significantly transformation fibrous tissue. verified nitric oxide pro-inflammatory cytokines TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6 lipopolysaccharides-stimulated RAW 264.7 cells regulation NF-kB MAPK signaling pathways. This study indicates can alleviate symptoms be applied as a novel OA

This study investigated whether oral supplementation with protease-soluble chicken type II collagen (PSCC-II) mitigates the progression of anterior cruciate ligament transection (ACLT)–induced osteoarthritis (OA) in rats. Eight-week-old male Wistar rats were randomly assigned to following groups: control, sham, ACLT, group A (ACLT + pepsin-soluble (C-II) I collagen), B Amano M–soluble C-II C high-dose and D unproteolyzed C-II). Various methods employed analyze knee joint: nociceptive tests, microcomputed tomography, histopathology, immunohistochemistry. Rats treated any form had significant reductions pain sensitivity cartilage degradation. Groups that received PSCC-II treatment effectively mitigated ACLT-induced effects OA concerning cancellous bone volume, trabecular number, separation compared ACLT alone group. Furthermore, suppressed effects, such as downregulation upregulation matrix metalloproteinase-13, tumor necrosis factor-α, interleukin-1β. These results indicate retains protective traditional undenatured provide superior benefits for management. encompass relief, anti-inflammatory protection bone.

Cervi cornu has been extensively used in traditional medicine as an antioxidant and for the treatment of various disorders, including osteoporosis. However, since it is not easy to separate active ingredient, absorption performed well. In this study, we extracted low molecular weight (843Da) collagen NP-2007 from cervi by enzyme hydrolyzation, evaluated therapeutic effect a monosodium iodoacetate (MIA)-induced rat osteoarthritis model, identified their mechanisms. was orally administered at 50, 100, 200 mg/kg 21 d. Efficacy based on serum parameters, inflammatory mediators, mor-phological histopathological analyses knee joints. Production matrix metalloproteinases, MMP-2, MMP-3, MMP-9, higher MIA-treated rats; however, these levels decreased after treatment. Serum tumor necrosis factor-α, interleukin (IL)-1β, IL-6, prostaglandin E2 were lower group than MIA group. Furthermore, administration resulted effective preservation both synovial membrane cartilage, significantly transformation fibrous tissue. This study indicates that can prevent alleviate symptoms have applications novel arthritis

The master molecular regulators and mechanisms determining longevity health span include nitric oxide (NO) superoxide anion radicals (SOR). L-arginine, the NO synthase (NOS) substrate, can restore a healthy ratio between dangerous SOR protective radical to promote aging. Antioxidant supplementation orchestrates protection against oxidative stress damage—L-arginine antioxidants such as vitamin C increase production bioavailability. Uncoupling of generation with appearance be induced by asymmetric dimethylarginine (ADMA). L-arginine displace ADMA from site formation if sufficient amounts amino acid are available. Antioxidants ascorbic acids scavenge bioavailability NO. topics this review complex interactions antioxidant agents which determine bioactivity age-related degeneration.
