Annona muricata is a fruit species belonging to the Annonaceae family, which native warmer tropical areas of North and South America. A large amount discarded residue from A. interest for obtaining new industrial inputs. To propose applications biopolymer residues (Biop_AmRs), this study aimed characterize input chemically functionally, as well evaluate its potential hemocompatibility cytotoxicity activity in vitro. Biop_AmRs an anionic heteropolysaccharide composed glucose, arabinose, xylose, galactose, mannose, uronic acid, proteins. This exhibited semicrystalline structure good thermal stability. excellent water holding capacity, emulsifying properties, mucoadhesiviness demonstrated cytocompatibility on L929 cell line. These results indicate possible environmentally friendly raw material food, pharmaceutical, biomedical, cosmetic industries.

A sugar-rich apple pulp waste generated from fruit processing for juice production was used as the sole carbon source cultivation of Alteromonas macleodii Mo169, a marine bacterium known its EPS-secreting ability. The strain efficiently utilized glucose and fructose present in waste, reaching biomass EPS 9.20 ± 0.61 3.51 0.08 g L−1, respectively, 24-hour bioreactor cultivation. Two high molecular weight (Mw) fractions (1.7 0.0 0.74 MDa) were detected sample recovered cell-free supernatant by dialysis. compositional analysis revealed presence (31.1 0.2 mol%), arabinose (23.9 0.1 mannose (17.3 glucosamine (10.3 0.5 galactose (8.7 mol%) galacturonic acid well content sulphate (6.0 wt%). Given Mw polysaccharide probably pectin, fraction sugar monomers might be attributed to that polymer, which together with A. Mo169 EPS. Concomitant synthesis, there viscosity build-up broth, developed shear-thinning fluid behaviour not observed initial medium. Therefore, this study demonstrates can converted into novel sustainable bioprocess. Moreover, acyl composition, good thickening capacity, render biopolymer interest use several applications.

Exopolysaccharides (EPSs) are large-molecular-weight, complex carbohydrate molecules and extracellularly secreted bio-polymers released by many microorganisms, including lactic acid bacteria (LAB). LAB well known for their ability to produce a wide range of EPSs, which has received major attention. LAB-EPSs have the potential improve health, applications in food pharmaceutical industries. Several methods been developed optimized recent years producing, extracting, purifying, characterizing LAB-produced EPSs. The simplest method evaluating production EPSs is observe morphological features, such as ropy mucoid appearances colonies. Ethanol precipitation widely used extract from cell-free supernatant generally purified using dialysis. most commonly quantify content phenol-sulfuric acid. structural characteristics identified via Fourier transform infrared, nuclear magnetic resonance, X-ray diffraction spectroscopy. molecular weight composition monosaccharides determined through size-exclusion chromatography, thin-layer gas high-performance liquid chromatography. surface morphology observed scanning electron microscopy atomic force microscopy, whereas thermal thermogravimetry analysis, derivative thermogravimetry, differential calorimetry. In present review, we discuss different existing detailed study provide comprehensive guide on LAB-EPS preparation, critically methods, addressing knowledge gaps key challenges, offering solutions enhance reproducibility, scalability, support both research industrial applications.
