Enhancing cross-protections against diverse influenza viruses is desired for vaccinations. Neuraminidase (NA)-specific antibody responses have been found to independently correlate with a broader protection spectrum. Here, we report sequential immunization regimen that includes priming NA protein followed by boosting peptide nanoclusters, which targeted enhancement of in BALB/c mice certain cross-protective B-cell epitopes was achieved. The nanoclusters were fabricated via desolvation absolute ethanol and only composed composite peptides. Unlike KLH conjugates, would not induce influenza-unrelated immunity. We the incorporation hemagglutinin H2-d class II restriction into peptides could be beneficial enhancing peptide-specific response. Of note, boosters N2 induced stronger serum cross-reactivities heterologous even heterosubtypic N7 N9 than triple immunizations prototype recombinant tetrameric (rt) N2. mouse challenge experiments HK68 H3N2 also demonstrated strong effectiveness nanocluster conferring protection.

Abstract Purpose of Review Intervertebral disc degeneration (IVDD) is a common orthopaedic disease and an important cause lower back pain, which seriously affects the work life patients causes large economic burden to society. The traditional treatment IVDD mainly involves early pain relief late surgical intervention, but it cannot reverse pathological course IVDD. Current studies suggest that related imbalance between anabolic catabolic functions extracellular matrix (ECM). Anti-inflammatory drugs, bioactive substances, stem cells have all been shown improve ECM, injection methods face short half-life leakage problems. Recent Findings good biocompatibility slow-release function polymer hydrogels are being noticed explored combine with drugs or substances treat Summary This paper introduces pathophysiological mechanism IVDD, discusses advantages, disadvantages development prospects for so as provide guidance future breakthroughs in
