Abstract In order to move forward the agenda of sustainable development through Environmental and Sustainability Education (ESE), there is a need for learning activities that go beyond mere knowledge transmission. Characterised by their holistic experiential nature, sport physical activity may carry potential supporting fostering pedagogical purposes ESE thereby contribute vision development. Although school education, including the subject of physical education (PE), has potential to contribute visions set out by 2030 Agenda and its sustainable development goals (SDGs), little attention been directed towards perspectives in PE teacher (PETE). In this explorative paper, we aimed investigate how are reflected Swedish PETE course syllabi, focusing on learning outcomes. The source data was 496 outcomes retrieved from syllabi at eight institutions that examine teachers for compulsory grades 7−9 upper secondary school. A qualitative thematical analysis performed, two educational resources developed support use achieving SDGs were used as a guiding framework. findings show (<2%) explicitly related perspectives.
