Abstract Vaccinations are instances of Human Enhancement (HE) because, as biotechnologies, they capable augmenting the human body’s capacities. We hypothesized that vaccination refusal, observed during COVID-19 pandemic, indicates a belief system also determines attitudes toward HE. Rejection both may be linked to well-known motives: invasiveness and alleged unnaturalness. tested relationship between these two phenomena by conducting online surveys ( N = 314 300; 81.5%/85.7% vaccinated against SARS-CoV-2 18.5%/14.33% not). examined if getting enhanced (vaccinated) can induce relational change environment. Study 1 suggested greater willingness use methods enhance cognitive abilities was more likely when must infrequently used were deemed natural non-invasive. An affirmative attitude naturalness correlated negatively with use. Interaction effects increased importance associated variables for unvaccinated participants. Interacting status, vaccinations Qualifying HE did not reliably predict or Getting led psychological relief. explored predictors intention. 2 showed perceived vaccine less but invasive Perceived decisive refusal. Findings suggest rejecting indicate motives other means valuable behavioral sample assess person’s broader system.

Vaccination is considered a prosocial behavior, protecting both the individual and society at large. However, many Americans choose to remain unvaccinated for multiple reasons relating mainly religious personal autonomy. To assess readiness COVID-19 vaccination, this quantitative study includes survey of nationally representative sample adults in United States ( n = 992) explore willingness engage vaccination as behavior. This operationalizes behavior using indicators empathic concern, monetary donations, volunteering predictors. Using ordinal logistic regression models, findings indicate that positively associated with intent. Further, show correlated demographics age, income, education level, demonstrating older (over 65), individuals higher incomes, college-educated have intent was found be highest among African-Americans who were twice likely vaccinated, lowest female participants.

Until the World Health Organization declared an end to COVID-19 as a global health emergency worldwide in 2023, people with multiple sclerosis (MS) were hesitant get vaccine. This study aimed assess final vaccination status, attitude, and adverse events related vaccine among MS Egypt. A self-administered survey was offered who came Alexandria University Clinic Egypt between June 2023 November 2023. Of 150 surveys completed, 77% of participants women. Their median age 35.5 years (range, 19-59 years); their disease duration 4 years. Only 81 (54%) received that 81, 81.5% 2 doses. The fear score (FCV-19S) 11, 15.3% had high levels fear. Worrying about worsening effect on (69.3%) long-term (AEs) vaccines (63.3%) most common causes only factor significantly receiving FCV-19S (P = .049). Among those vaccine, fatigue AE reported 48%; 5% neurological relapse. No other serious AEs occurred. In this study, almost half did not receive vaccination, mainly due attributed mild. Cultured meat, produced by culturing animal cells in vitro, is gaining increasing interest. The first products obtained using this technology were authorized for human consumption Singapore and the United States, more are likely to follow other parts of world. Therefore, it important assess attitudes toward such meat various populations understand grounds its acceptance rejection. present cross-sectional online study adult Poles (n = 1553) aimed evaluate knowledge cultured main reasons fears associated with production consumption, willingness buy factors influencing willingness. Most respondents (63%) familiar concept 54% declared purchase when available. However, concerns over safety expressed individuals accepting (39%) rejecting (49%) meat. motivations choosing included limiting suffering (76%) environmental impacts (67%), although half responders willing these driven curiosity (58%). Multiple logistic regression revealed that odds (OR; 95%CI) significantly increased adults aged 18–40 (1.8; 1.2–2.7); women eaters (8.7; 5.6–13.6); convinced farming adversely affects climate (7.6; 3.1–18.3), surface waters (3.1; 1.2–8.1), air quality (3.0; 1.2–7.6); those (4.2, 2.2–8.4); revealing high openness experience (1.7; 1.2–2.4). results highlight Polish population may be moderately ready accept identify groups resistant it. However, due SARS-CoV-2 mutations and uneven vaccination coverage among populations, a series waves have been caused by different variants concern (VOCs). Despite updated vaccine formulations for new VOC, benefits additional doses raised many doubts, even high-risk groups such as healthcare workers (HCWs). We examined factors underlying hesitancy receive booster analysed anti-SARS-CoV-2 IgG antibody response after HCWs. Our study found that 42% HCWs hesitant about second dose, while 7% reported no intent get vaccinated with any doses. As reasons not vaccinating, participants most frequently highlighted lack time, negative experiences previous vaccinations, immunity conferred past infections. In addition, we lowest post-vaccination titres who did dose highest two
