The article describes a relatively new psychological construct of self-compassion and its relation to another well-known notion, self-esteem. Previous research has linked extraversion, present-fatalistic time perspective (PFTP) [28], [49], and mental pain tolerance (MPT) [16]. PFTP was used to examine extraversion's direct indirect effects on MPT.
