ABSTRACT For developing beef cattle breeding programmes, it is essential to understand the genetic basis of economically relevant traits, such as carcass, meat quality and female sexual precocity. However, direct selection most these traits a challenge for producers because high cost measurement difficulty. Genetic correlation estimates between carcass obtained after slaughter precocity indicator in Nellore are limited literature. Thus, this study aimed estimate parameters longissimus muscle area (LMA), backfat thickness (BF), hot weight (HCW), shear force tenderness (SF), marbling score (MARB), intramuscular fat content (IMF), age at first calving (AFC), heifer pregnancy (HP) scrotal circumference (SC) cattle, using pedigree genomic information. this, data from 6910 young bulls with phenotypic information 230,682 17,850 animals genotyped or imputed Illumina Bovine HD BeadChip were used. The (co)variance components estimated considering BLUP single‐step GBLUP (ssGBLUP) models via Bayesian inference GIBBSF90+ software. multi‐trait animal model included additive residual effects random; fixed contemporary group (for all traits) date analysis classes BF, SF MARB); linear (all yearling (YW SC) covariates. Heritability ranged 0.13 0.34 SC, AFC HP, 0.33, 0.07 0.29, respectively. Favourable correlations YW‐HCW (0.79 ± 0.03), YW‐LMA (0.28 0.05), YW‐SC (0.35 HCW‐LMA (0.44 HCW‐SF (−0.22 0.09), HCW‐SC (0.19 MARB‐IMF (0.90 0.07), SF‐IMF (−0.20 0.11), BF‐MARB (0.29 0.08), BF‐IMF (0.22 BF‐AFC (−0.21 0.07) BF‐HP (0.24 0.10). In general, those low moderate. Additionally, did not exhibit strong indicators. So, achieve significant advances composition quality, must compose indices cattle.

Introduction: Genome-wide association studies (GWAS) have identified genetic markers for cattle production and reproduction traits. Several publications reported Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms (SNPs) carcass-related traits in cattle, but these were rarely conducted pasture-finished beef cattle. Hawai'i, however, has a diverse climate, 100% of its are pasture-fed. Methods: Blood samples collected from 400 raised Hawai'i islands at the commercial harvest facility. Genomic DNA was isolated, 352 high-quality genotyped using Neogen GGP Bovine 100 K BeadChip. SNPs that did not meet quality control standards removed PLINK 1.9, 85 k 351 used mapping with carcass weight GAPIT (Version 3.0) R 4.2. Four models GWAS analysis: General Linear Model (GLM), Mixed (MLM), Fixed Random Circulating Probability Unification (FarmCPU), Bayesian-Information Linkage-Disequilibrium Iteratively Nested Keyway (BLINK). Results Discussion: Our results indicated two multi-locus models, FarmCPU BLINK, outperformed single-locus GLM MLM, herds this study. Specifically, five significant FarmCPU, while BLINK each other three. Also, three eleven ("BTA-40510-no-rs", "BovineHD1400006853", "BovineHD2100020346") shared by multiple models. The mapped to genes such as EIF5, RGS20, TCEA1, LYPLA1, MRPL15, which previously be associated traits, growth, feed intake several tropical breeds. This confirms study could candidate pasture-fed can selected further breeding programs improve yield productivity beyond.

The importance of sheep breeding in the Mediterranean part eastern Adriatic has a long tradition since its arrival during Neolithic migrations. Sheep production system is extensive and generally carried out traditional systems without intensive systematic programmes for high uniform trait (carcass, wool milk yield). Therefore, eight indigenous Croatian breeds from treated here as metapopulation (EAS), are considered multipurpose (milk, meat wool), not specialised particular type production, but known their robustness resistance to certain environmental conditions. Our objective was identify genomic regions genes that exhibit patterns positive selection signatures, decipher biological productive functionality, provide "genomic" characterization EAS adaptation determine type.We identified signatures using several methods based on reduced local variation, linkage disequilibrium site frequency spectrum (eROHi, iHS, nSL CLR). analyses numerous (e.g., desmosomal cadherin desmoglein gene families) associated with economically important traits. Most candidate were related meat/production health/immune response traits, while some discovered domestication evolutionary processes HOXa family FSIP2). These results also confirmed by GO QTL enrichment analysis. Our contribute better understanding unique adaptive genetic architecture define type, ultimately providing new opportunity future programmes. At same time, will improve our ruminant (sheep) harsh specific environment.

Composite breeds are widely used in the beef industry. Composites allow producers to combine desirable traits from progenitor and simplify herd management, without repeated crossbreeding maintenance of purebreds. In this study, genomic information was evaluate genetic composition characteristics a three-breed cattle composite. This composite population referred as Gene Combination (CGC) consisted 50% Red Angus, 25% Charolais, Tarentaise. A total 248 animals were study: CGC (n = 79), Angus 61), Charolais Tarentaise 29). Copy number variation (CNV) serves as a significant source of genetic diversity in mammals and exerts substantial effects on various complex traits. Pingliang red cattle, an outstanding indigenous resource China, possess remarkable breeding value attributed to their tender meat superior marbling quality. However, the mechanisms influencing carcass quality traits cattle are not well understood. We generated comprehensive genome-wide CNV map for using GGP Bovine 100K SNP chip. A total 755 copy variable regions (CNVRs) spanning 81.03 Mb were identified, accounting approximately 3.24% bovine autosomal genome. Among these, we discovered 270 potentially breed-specific CNVRs including 143 gains, 73 losses, 54 mixed events. Functional annotation analysis revealed associations between these specific important such quality, reproduction, exterior traits, growth health Additionally, our network transcriptome highlighted CACNA2D1, CYLD, UBXN2B, TG, NADK, ITGA9 promising candidate genes associated with weight intramuscular fat deposition. The current study presents highlighting CNVRs, findings provide valuable insights into underlying characteristics cattle. These results offer potential avenues enhancing through targeted program.

Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) located in transcript sequences showing allele-specific expression (ASE SNPs) were previously identified the Longissimus thoracis muscle of a Nelore (Bos indicus) population consisting 190 steers. Given that pattern may result from cis-regulatory SNPs, called quantitative trait loci (aseQTLs), this study, we searched for aseQTLs window 1 Mb upstream and downstream each ASE SNP. After initial analysis, aiming to investigate variants with potential regulatory role, further screened our aseQTL data sequence similarity transcription factor binding sites microRNA (miRNA) sites. These overlapped methylation reduced representation bisulfite sequencing (RRBS) obtained 12 animals same population. We 1134 associated 126 different SNPs. For 215 aseQTLs, one allele potentially affected affinity muscle-expressed its site. 162 predicted affect 149 miRNA sites, which 114 miRNAs expressed muscle. Also, 16 methylated Integration GWAS revealed enrichment traits such as meat tenderness, ribeye area, intramuscular fat .
