Abstract The advent of heated tobacco products (HTPs) has introduced new variables in the study nicotine delivery systems and their health implications. Amidst concerns over cardiovascular effects, this aims to elucidate acute impact HTP inhalation on extracellular vesicles (EV) levels young, healthy individuals. In controlled, exposure study, 23 volunteers were subjected inhalation. EV endothelial platelet origin quantified through flow cytometry before after exposure. Data analysis was performed using multiple measures ANOVA assess changes concentrations. Our findings reveal a significant increase EVs following short-term with nicotine. Notably, no change observed leukocyte- neutrophil-derived EVs. This suggests vascular stress, peak 4 h post-exposure. rise platelet-derived aligns documented responses injury, paralleling effects seen traditional cigarette e-cigarette use. Despite HTPs being marketed as safer alternatives, our results indicate that nicotine-containing may still pose risks. These contribute growing body evidence cautioning against perceived safety reinforce importance regulatory oversight public initiatives targeting technologies. Backgrounds/Objectives: Abnormal platelet functions are associated with human morbidity and mortality. Platelets have emerged as critical regulators of numerous physiological pathological processes beyond their established roles in hemostasis thrombosis. Maintaining function is essential to preventing platelet-associated diseases such cardiovascular disease, cancer metastasis, immune disorders, hypertension, diabetes, sickle cell inflammatory bowel sepsis, rheumatoid arthritis, myeloproliferative Alzheimer's disease. become hyperactive obesity, a sedentary lifestyle, pollution, smokers.
