Background: Human immunodeficiency virus-1 infection still remains a global health threat. While antiretroviral therapy is the primary treatment option, concerns about emergence of drug-resistance mutations and failure in HIV-infected patients persist. Objective: In this study, we investigated development drug resistance HIV-1-infected individuals receiving for 6-10 years. Methods: cross-sectional evaluated 144 people living with HIV-1 who had received at least 6 Plasma specimens were collected, viral load assessed using molecular techniques. Results: The demographic epidemiological characteristics participants also analyzed: Twelve [8.3%) studied showed over 1000 copies per/mL, which indicates suboptimal response to therapy. Significant correlations found between CD4 count, as well factors, such vertical transmission, history imprisonment, needle stick injuries. Drug detected 10 (83.3%) failed on therapy, most common observed against nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (5 (41.7%)) non-nucleoside (9 (75%)). Phylogenetic analysis revealed that 12 infected CRF35_AD. Conclusion: Our study provides important insights into long-term Iran. findings underline need regular monitoring, individualized selection, targeted interventions optimize outcomes prevent further spread drug-resistant strains.

Multiplexed analysis in medical diagnostics is widely accepted as a more thorough and complete method compared to single-analyte detection. While analytical methods like polymerase chain reaction enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) exist for multiplexed detection of biomarkers, they remain time-consuming expensive. Lateral flow assays (LFAs) are an attractive option point-of-care testing, examples LFAs exist. However, these devices limited by spatial resolution test lines, large sample volume requirements, cross-reactivity, poor sensitivity. Recent work has developed capillary-flow microfluidic ELISA platforms sensitive alternative LFAs; however, on types yet be demonstrated. In the aftermath initial SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, need rapid, become ever clearer. Moving forward, that can distinguish between diseases with similar presenting symptoms would ideal home diagnostic. Here, first example immunoassay device simultaneous multiple biomarkers reported. From single addition step, reagents washing steps required two ELISAs delivered spatially separated strips. Visual results obtained <15 min, images captured smartphone analyzed quantitative data. This was used quantify H1N1 hemagglutinin (HA) nucleocapsid protein (N-protein). Using this device, limits 840 133 pg/mL were protein, respectively. The presence one target did not increase signal other line, indicating no cross-reactivity assays. Additionally, both N-protein HA performed well human C-reactive (CRP). Elevated levels CRP patient infected have been shown correlate severe outcomes greater risk death well. To further expand detected simultaneously, interfere when targets present sample.

Aim – to study the changes in peripheral blood parameters and immune status patients with mixed infection assess risks of developing pulmonary fibrosis. Material methods. We examined 25 aged 23 72 years co-infection acute phase disease, who were hospitalized at infectious diseases hospital based OrSMU research center. The markers cellular immunity, percentage phagocytic cells index, level immunoglobulins classes A, M, G, cytokines registered all patients. Results. suppression immunity parameters, primarily T-immune system, was revealed elderly co-infection, along an isolated course COVID-19. In young middle-aged patients, we found multidirectional during influenza COVID-19 co-infection. An increase IL-6 TGF-β early stages disease infection. Conclusion. are not pronounced enough for development lungs fibrous period disease. possibility detecting viruses may change strategy treatment cytokine storm reactions critically ill
