Flavonoids are a group of naturally occurring polyphenolic secondary metabolites which have been reported to demonstrate wide range pharmacological properties, most importantly, antidiabetic and anti-inflammatory effects. The relationship between hyperglycaemia inflammation vascular complications in diabetes is now well established. possessing properties may alleviate by reducing through different mechanisms action. It has suggested that the flavonoids’ biochemical structure-dependent; however, they yet be thoroughly grasped. Hence, main aim this review understand various structurally diverse flavonoids identify key positions responsible for effects, their correlation, effect substitutions on both properties. general requirement exerting effects found presence C2–C3 double bond (C-ring) hydroxyl groups at C3’, C4’, C5, C7 rings A B flavonoid skeleton. Furthermore, it demonstrated substitution C3 position C-ring decreases action while enhancing activity. Correlation discussed length support essential pharmacophores equipotent consideration these structural features play an important role synthesizing better flavonoid-based drugs dual meta-analysis further established as agents.

Flavonoids play diverse roles in plants, comprise a non-negligible fraction of net primary photosynthetic production, and impart beneficial effects human health from plant-based diet. Absorption spectroscopy is an essential tool for quantitation flavonoids isolated complex plant extracts. The absorption spectra typically consist two major bands, band I (300-380 nm) II (240-295 nm), where the former engenders yellow color; some tails to 400-450 nm. 177 analogues natural or synthetic origin have been assembled, including molar coefficients (109 literature, 68 measured here). spectral data are digital form can be viewed accessed at http://www.photochemcad.com. database enables comparison features 12 distinct types flavan-3-ols (e.g., catechin, epigallocatechin), flavanones hesperidin, naringin), 3-hydroxyflavanones taxifolin, silybin), isoflavones daidzein, genistein), flavones diosmin, luteolin), flavonols fisetin, myricetin). structural that give rise shifts wavelength intensity delineated. availability facilitates analysis these valuable secondary metabolites. Four examples provided calculations─multicomponent analysis, solar ultraviolet photoprotection, sun protection factor (SPF), Förster resonance energy transfer (FRET)─for which accompanying sine qua non.

Bioflavonoids are natural polyphenolic secondary metabolites that medicinal. These compounds possess antitumor, cardioprotective, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antiviral, and anti-psoriasis properties to mention a few. Plant species contain bioflavonoids should be preserved as such. Also, the bioactivity of neutraceutical is compromised following extraction due their sensitivity environmental factors like light, pH, temperature. In other words, bioflavonoids’ shelf-life affected. Scientists noticed have low solubility properties, poor absorption, bioavailability consumption. Researchers came up with methods encapsulate in order circumvent challenges above also mask unpleasant these chemicals may have. Besides, scientists cryopreserve plant bioflavonoids. this review, we discuss cryopreservation bioflavonoid microencapsulation focusing mainly on vitrification, slow freezing, freeze-drying techniques. addition, highlight techniques, medicinal challenges, future perspectives Regardless uniqueness preserve sources bioactivity, there reported. Freeze-drying technology costly. Cryoprotectants damage integrity cells, say least. working very hard overcome challenges. Encapsulating via coaxial electrospray then cryopreserving micro/nanocapsules produced can interesting.

Abstract Phytoestrogens are plant secondary metabolite that is structurally and functionally similar to mammalian estrogens, which have been shown various health benefits in humans. Isoflavones, coumestans, lignans the three major bioactive classes of phytoestrogens. It has a complicated mechanism action involving an interaction with nuclear estrogen receptor isoforms ERα ERβ, agonist antagonist effects. Depending on their concentration bioavailability sources, phytoestrogens can act as or antagonists. Menopausal vasomotor symptoms, breast cancer, cardiovascular disease, prostate menopausal osteoporosis/bone all studied using additional standard hormone supplemental remedy. The botanical techniques identification, classification, side effects, clinical implications, pharmacological therapeutic effects proposed mode action, safety issues, future directions for highlighted this review.

Osteoarthritis (OA) is a typical joint disease associated with chronic inflammation. The nuclear factor-kappaB (NF-κB) pathway plays an important role in inflammatory activity and inhibiting NF-κB-mediated inflammation can be potential strategy for treating OA. Flavonoids are class of naturally occurring polyphenols anti-inflammatory properties. Structurally, natural flavonoids divided into several sub-groups, including flavonols, flavones, flavanols/catechins, flavanones, anthocyanins, isoflavones. Increasing evidence demonstrates that exhibit protective against the pathological changes OA by NF-κB signaling pathway. Potentially, may suppress signaling-mediated responses, ECM degradation, chondrocyte apoptosis. different biological actions chondrocytes might differentially substituted groups on structures. In this review, efficacy action mechanism development discussed targeting could become useful inhibitors therapeutic management
