Gas hydrates have been proposed as a potential technology for number of applications, such separation gas mixtures, CO2 capture, transportation, and sequestration, methane storage transport, seawater desalination. Most these applications will benefit from reduced induction time hydrate nucleation, enhanced growth rate, maximum water-to-hydrate conversion. The addition surfactants to the gas–water system serves this purpose in very effective manner. This review focuses on different that were utilized formation studies; insights provided possible mechanisms action through which affect kinetics. A thorough analysis existing literature suggests rate nucleation kinetics may not be directly linked micelle formation. Conversely, surface tension presence only enhances mass transfer but also changes morphology formation, turn interactions faster rate.
