Abstract The gut microbiome (GM) modulates body weight/composition and gastrointestinal functioning; therefore, approaches targeting resident microbes have attracted considerable interest. Intermittent fasting (IF) protein pacing (P) regimens are effective in facilitating weight loss (WL) enhancing composition. However, the interrelationships between IF- P-induced WL GM unknown. current randomized controlled study describes distinct fecal microbial plasma metabolomic signatures combined IF-P ( n = 21) versus a heart-healthy, calorie-restricted (CR, 20) diet matched for overall energy intake free-living human participants (women 27; men 14) with overweight/obesity 8 weeks. Gut symptomatology improves abundance of Christensenellaceae circulating cytokines amino acid metabolites favoring fat oxidation increase (p < 0.05), whereas associated longevity-related metabolic pathway CR 0.05). Differences indicate factors play role maintenance This novel work provides insight into profile following an or highlights important differences assembly composition responsiveness. These data may inform future GM-focused precision nutrition recommendations using larger sample sizes longer duration. As the population ages, promoting healthy aging through targeted interventions becomes increasingly crucial. Growing evidence suggests that dietary can significantly impact this process by modulating fundamental molecular pathways. This review focuses on potential of strategies in and mechanisms which specific nutrients patterns influence key pathways involved cellular repair, inflammation, metabolic regulation. Caloric restriction, intermittent fasting, Mediterranean diet, as well ketogenic diet showed promising effects aging, possibly mTORC1 AMPK, an insulin signaling pathway. By understanding intricate interplay between pathways, we develop personalized not only prevent age-related diseases, but also promote overall health well-being throughout process.

Background Obesity and metabolic syndrome (MetS) have become increasingly significant global health issues. Time-restricted feeding (TRF), as a novel dietary intervention, has garnered attention in recent years. However, there is limited research focusing on the effects of TRF energy expenditure systemic low-grade inflammation. This study aims to investigate impact weight management, glucose metabolism, insulin resistance, lipid metabolism male C57BL/6J mice, particularly context disorders induced by high-fat diet (HFD). Methods mice were divided into two groups: normal (ND) group (HFD) group. The duration was 12 weeks. Key parameters observed included body weight, tolerance (via tests), resistance (HOMA-IR), secretion under stimulation. Additionally, liver tissue subjected Oil Red O staining assess accumulation, white brown adipose tissues stained with hematoxylin eosin (HE) evaluate adipocyte size. expression hepatic lipogenesis-related genes (Srebp-c, Chrebp, Fasn, Acc1) thermogenic (UCP1 PGC-1α) also measured. Furthermore, temperature changes interscapular (BAT) monitored. Results In ND group: improved reduced circulating levels pro-inflammatory cytokine IL-6, slight reduction weight. In HFD significantly mitigated gain, enhanced steatosis downregulating liver. increased thermogenesis upregulating BAT, while lowering serum cytokines IL-6 TNF-α, though IL-1β remained unchanged. Conclusion demonstrates that can activate reduce inflammation maker, leading an improvement accumulation. These findings suggest may be promising intervention for mitigating disturbances associated obesity syndrome. provides mechanistic insights beneficial TRF, highlighting its potential modulating exerting anti-inflammatory effects.

Abstract Background The prevalence of obesity is rising globally and effective strategies to treat are needed. Intermittent fasting, a dietary intervention for weight management, has received growing interest from the general public, as well healthcare professionals, form lifestyle intervention. Methods We executed rapid review using PUBMED database identify systematic reviews that examined impact intermittent fasting on metabolic indices, published between 2011 2022. Results leads loss similar magnitude continuous energy restriction. Most evidence shows greater fat measured by mass (kg) or body percentage compared an ad libitum diet, but attained during not significantly different restriction, although recent be superior. There mixed insulin resistance, glucose lipid profile. Some studies focused populations Muslim people, which showed Ramadan may lead improvement parameters effects reversed when finished. Conclusions more than intake, equally management. However, there inconclusive whether clinically beneficial effect metabolism.

Intermittent fasting has drawn significant interest in the clinical research community due to its potential address metabolic complications such as obesity and type 2 diabetes mellitus. Various intermittent regimens include alternate-day (24 h of followed by 24 eating), time-restricted (fasting for 14 eating within a 10 window), 5:2 diet two days normally other five days). is associated with reduced risk mellitus-related can slow their progression. The increasing global prevalence mellitus highlights importance early management. Since prediabetes precursor mellitus, understanding progression essential. However, long-term effects on are not yet well understood. Therefore, this review aims comprehensively compile existing knowledge therapeutic managing prediabetes.

Background: Prediabetes is a condition that often precedes the onset of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Literature evidence indicates prediabetes reversible, making it an important therapeutic target for preventing progression to T2DM. Several studies have investigated intermittent fasting as possible method manage or treat prediabetes. Objectives: This study evaluated impact 14:10-hour time-restricted feeding (TRF) regimen on leptin concentration, insulin sensitivity and selected markers associated with signalling pathway glucose homeostasis in diet-induced prediabetic rats. Methods: Twenty-four male Sprague Dawley rats were obtained randomly divided into two dietary groups: group 1 (n = 6) received standard diet water, while 18) was provided high-fat, high-carbohydrate (HFHC) supplemented 15% fructose period 20 weeks induce After confirming prediabetes, (IF) assigned also having untreated metformin-treated serving controls. Results: Both IF HFHC-Met groups yield significantly lower blood glucose, BMI results compared group. The yielded insulin, HOMA-IR HbA1C than both Conclusions: showed potential alleviating prediabetes-induced dysregulation therefore warrants further investigations its use management
