Introduction Centella asiatica (CA) is known in Ayurvedic medicine as a rejuvenating herb with particular benefits the nervous system. Two groups of specialized metabolites found CA and purported to contribute its beneficial effects are triterpenes (TTs) caffeoylquinic acids (CQAs). In order evaluate role interactions TTs CQAs CA, we examined neurotrophic water extract (CAW) combinations TT CQA components mouse primary hippocampal neurons vitro Drosophila melanogaster flies vivo . Methods Primary were isolated from embryos exposed for 5 days CAW (50 μg/mL), mixtures TTs, or + 4 8 individual compounds CAW. Dendritic arborization was evaluated using Sholl analysis. aged 28 treated 2 weeks (10 mg/mL) food, compounds. tested at concentrations matching their levels treatment used. After treatment, 42 phototaxis responses. Results neurons, mix, all most significantly increased dendritic greater than control levels. However, combination decreased arborization. Drosophila, marked age-related decline fast response observed both males females over 60 period. resilience this afforded male female by onwards mg/mL), equivalent mixed mix. Of compounds, only 1,5-diCQA slowed flies. Discussion This study confirmed ability increase neuronal arborization, provide neurological The these but do not have synergistic effect. While concentrations, model, able slow down phototaxis. suggests that (or potentially higher concentrations) other needed model.

Triterpenic acids are phytocompounds with a widespread range of biological activities that have been the subject numerous in vitro and vivo studies. However, their underlying mechanisms action various pathologies not completely elucidated. The current review aims to summarize most recent literature, published last five years, regarding mechanism three triterpenic (asiatic acid, oleanolic ursolic acid), corelated different such as anticancer, anti-inflammatory, antidiabetic, cardioprotective, neuroprotective, hepatoprotective, antimicrobial. All discussed compounds share several action, targeted modulation PI3K/AKT, Nrf2, NF-kB, EMT, JAK/STAT3 signaling pathways, while other proved only be specific for part discussed, Notch, Hippo, MALAT1/miR-206/PTGS1 pathway, were highlighted well. This paper stands first our literature study on topic, which will followed by second focusing therapeutic value.

Flavonoids and saponins are important bioactive compounds that have attracted wide research interests. This review aims to summarise the state of art pharmacology, toxicology clinical efficacy these compounds.Data were retrieved from PubMed, Cochrane Library, Web Science, Proquest, CNKI, Chongqing VIP, Wanfang, NPASS HIT 2.0 databases. Meta-analysis systematic reviews evaluated following PRISMA guideline. Statistical analyses conducted using SPSS23.0.Rising trends on flavonoids observed since 1990s 2000s, respectively. Studies pharmacological targets activities represent an area advances over past decade, resources been documented in open-access specialised databases can be with ease. The rising attributed, at least part, their links some highly investigated fields research, e.g., oxidative stress, inflammation cancer; i.e., 6.88% 3.03% publications stress cited by PubMed 1990 - 2021 involved saponins, respectively, significantly higher than percentage involving alkaloids (1.88%). effects concern chronic venous insufficiency, cervical lesions, diabetes, rhinitis, dermatopathy, prostatitis, menopausal symptoms, angina pectoris, male pattern hair loss, lymphocytic leukaemia, gastrointestinal diseases traumatic cerebral infarction, etc, while those may impact oedema deep vein incompetence, erectile dysfunction, acute injuries systemic lupus erythematosus, etc. volume vitro appears way vivo studies, only 10 meta-analyses (involving 290 interventional observational studies), 36 studies saponins. Data sorely needed pharmacokinetics, pan-assay interferences, purity tested compounds, interactions complex herbal extracts, real anti-oxidative strategies, mid- long-term toxicities. To fill gaps, further investigations warranted. On other hand, drug cause adverse but might also useful for synergism, goals enhancing or detoxifying. Terpenes, especially volatile terpenes, are important components of tea aroma due to their unique scents. They also widely used in the cosmetic and medical industries. In addition, terpene emission can be induced by herbivory, wounding, light, low temperature, other stress conditions, leading plant defense responses plant–plant interactions. The transcriptional levels core genes (including HMGR, DXS, TPS) involved terpenoid biosynthesis up- or downregulated MYB, MYC, NAC, ERF, WRKY, bHLH transcription factors. These regulators bind corresponding cis-elements promoter regions genes, some them interact with factors form a complex. Recently, several key synthesis have been isolated functionally identified from plants. this work, we focus on research progress regulation terpenes plants (Camellia sinensis) thoroughly detail compounds, biosynthesis-related biosynthesis, importance. This review aims provide an overview structure and action immunomodulators isolated from African medicinal plants. The research was conducted according PRISMA guidelines. Full-text access articles published in English up December 2023, including plant characteristics, phytochemicals, immuno-modulatory activities, were screened. chemical structures compounds generated using ChemDraw® (version 12.0.1076), convergent distinctive signaling pathways highlighted. These phytochemicals with demonstrated immunostimulatory activity include alkaloids (berberine, piperine, magnoflorine), polysaccharides (pectin, glucan, acemannan, CALB-4, GMP90-1), glycosides (syringin, cordifolioside, tinocordiside, aucubin), phenolic (ferulic acid, vanillic eupalitin), flavonoids (curcumin, centaurein, kaempferin, luteolin, guajaverin, etc.), terpenoids (oleanolic ursolic betulinic boswellic acids, corosolic nimbidin, andrographolides). discussed exert their effects through various mechanisms, targeting modulation MAPKs, PI3K-Akt, NF-kB. mechanisms can support traditional use plants treat immune-related diseases. outcomes this are provoke structural optimization, orient on particular natural chemicals for managing inflammatory, infectious diseases cancers, or boost vaccine immunogenicity.
