Overcoming the limited bioavailability and extensive metabolism of effective in vitro drugs remains a challenge that limits translation promising into clinical trials. Resveratrol, despite its well-reported therapeutic benefits, is not metabolically stable thus has been utilized as an drug. This because it needs to be consumed large amounts overcome burdens conversion less metabolites. Herein, we summarize more relevant approaches modify resveratrol, aiming increase biological efficacy. We discuss combination therapies, derivatization, use resveratrol nanoparticles. Interestingly, with established chemotherapeutic shown effects on colon cancer (with oxaliplatin), liver cisplatin, 5-FU), gastric doxorubicin). Cancer is the world's second most common cause of death, with colon cancer (CC) ranking third in prevalence and cancer-related fatalities. CC originates or rectum influenced by genetic mutations, lifestyle, diet. Although chemotherapy, especially 5-fluorouracil (5-FU), fundamental to treatment has improved patient survival, its benefits are often limited significant side effects emerging drug resistance. Recently, plant-based foods have drawn interest research for their natural bioactive compounds relatively low toxicity. Certain plant not only exhibit anti-cancer activity but may also boost effectiveness 5-FU while reducing adverse effects. Despite evidence suggesting a synergistic effect between 5-FU, this area remains fragmented. This review consolidates current on including fruits, vegetables, legumes, tea bioactives treatment. Besides, it explores mechanisms through which these enhance efficacy reduce effects, evaluates clinical application prospects, identifies challenges future directions. comprehensive analysis aims provide scientific foundation integrated CC, highlighting potential enhancing chemotherapy associated toxicities.

The toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) signaling pathway constitutes an intricate network of protein interactions primarily involved in inflammation and cancer. This triggers intracellular cascades, modulating transcription factors that regulate gene expression related to immunity malignancy. Previous studies showed colon cancer patients with low TLR4 exhibit extended survival times the holds a significant role CRC pathogenesis. In recent years, traditional Chinese medicines (TCMs) have garnered substantial attention as alternative therapeutic modality for CRC, due their multifaceted composition ability target multiple pathways. Emerging evidence indicates specific TCM products, such andrographolide, rosmarinic acid, baicalin, etc., potential impede development through pathway. Here, we review biochemical processes natural products from TCMs affecting sheds light on treatment strategies utilizing inhibitors which contributes advancement research accelerates clinical integration into treatment.
