Doxorubicin (DOX) constitutes the major constituent of anti-cancer treatment regimens currently in clinical use. However, precise mechanisms DOX’s action are not fully understood. Emerging evidence points to pleiotropic anticancer activity DOX, including its contribution DNA damage, reactive oxygen species (ROS) production, apoptosis, senescence, autophagy, ferroptosis, and pyroptosis induction, as well immunomodulatory role. This review aims collect information on DOX influence anti-tumor immune response, providing a rationale behind importance modern cancer therapy.

Berberine, as a natural alkaloid compound, is characterized by diversity of pharmacological effects. In recent years, many researches focused on the role berberine in central nervous system diseases. Among them, effect neurodegenerative diseases has received widespread attention, for example Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s Huntington’s and so on. Recent evidence suggests that inhibits production neuroinflammation, oxidative, endoplasmic reticulum stress. These effects can further reduce neuron damage apoptosis. Although current research made some progress, its specific mechanism still needs to be explored. This review provides an overview related mechanisms, also new ideas future berberine.

Abstract Glioblastoma (GBM) is the most aggressive primary brain tumor with poor prognosis and high recurrence rate. The presence of blood–brain barrier (BBB) prevents diagnostic therapeutic drugs from penetrating working in GBM. In traditional surgical treatment, it difficult to completely distinguish boundary between surrounding normal tissue, resulting incomplete resection tumor. Therefore, diagnosis treatment GBM are very challenging. Several molecular probes nanoprobes have been reported successfully penetrate BBB, selectively target accumulate achieve situ imaging tumors, thus achieving accurate orthotopic or non‐orthotopic This paper reviews advances image‐guided design principle, application, advantages each probe enumerated detail. Finally, prospects potential challenges discussed a view further promote study application novel

The high morbidity and mortality associated with colorectal cancer (CRC) are largely due to the invariable development of chemoresistance classic chemotherapies, as well intolerance their significant toxicity. Many pharmaceutical formulations screened from natural plant extracts offer safe, inexpensive, multi-target therapeutic options. In this study, we demonstrated that Berberis vulgaris L. (Berberine) Andrographis paniculata (Burm. f.) Nees (Andrographis) exerted synergistic amplified anti-cancer effects by jointly inhibiting cell viability, suppressing colony formation, inducing cycle arrest. Consistent our in-vitro findings, were also observed in subcutaneous xenograft preclinical animal models, patient-derived primary tumor organoids. To explore molecular mechanisms underlying effects, RNA sequencing was performed identify candidate pathways genes. A transcriptome analysis revealed DNA-replication-related genes, including FEN1, MCM7, PRIM1, MCM5, POLA1, MCM4, PCNA, may be responsible for enhanced anticancer these two extracts. Taken together, data powerful anti-CRC berberine provide evidence combinational targeting genes a promising new strategy option management CRC patients.

Neurodegenerative diseases (NDs) encompass a broad range of conditions characterized by progressive neuronal degeneration and death manifesting with variety signs symptoms ranging from reduced cognitive function to motor dysfunctions. NDs share number molecular pathogenic mechanism, the most frequent which is oxidative stress (OS). Currently, no ND curative, therapies offered merely control or slow illness development. As result, current therapy research has focused on developing multi-targeted therapeutic approaches. This approach also consistent natural product derivatives characteristics, such as phytochemicals. Because their antioxidant effects, alkaloids, one phytochemicals, have potential cure targeting OS mechanism. Role plant derived alkaloids (34) agents for are summarized in this review.
