Abstract Fritillaria naturally grows in the temperate region of Northern Hemisphere and mainly distributes Central Asia, Mediterranean region, North America. The dried bulbs from a dozen species this genus have been usually used as herbal medicine, named Beimu China. had rich sources phytochemicals extensively applied to respiratory diseases including coronavirus disease (COVID-19). alkaloids that act main active components contribute multiple biological activities, anti-tussive, expectorant, anti-asthmatic effects, especially against certain diseases. Other compounds (terpenoids, steroidal saponins, phenylpropanoids) also identified . In review, readers will discover brief summary traditional uses comprehensive description chemical profiles, properties, analytical techniques for quality control. general, detailed reveals 293 specialized metabolites isolated analyzed species. This review may provide scientific basis ecology metabolomics which compound identification remains limiting step.

SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19), a novel coronavirus causing life-threatening pneumonia, caused pandemic starting in 2019 and unprecedented economic health crises all over the globe. This requires rapid discovery of anti-SARS-CoV-2 drug candidates to overcome this pandemic. Strawberry (Fragaria ananassa Duch.) ginger (Zingiber officinale) methanolic extracts were used for silver nanoparticle (AgNPs) synthesis explore their inhibitory potential. Moreover, an silico study was performed possible chemical compounds that might be responsible The characterization green synthesized AgNPs carried out with transmission electron microscope (TEM), Fourier-transform infrared, spectroscopy ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy, zeta potential, dynamic light-scattering technique. metabolic profiling strawberry extract assessed using liquid chromatography coupled high-resolution mass spectrometry. antiviral potential against evaluated MTT assay. modeling molecular conducted via AutoDock Vina demonstrate dereplicated bind some proteins. TEM analysis showed spherical nanoparticles mean sizes 5.89 nm 5.77 ginger, respectively. UV-Visible spectrophotometric absorption peak at λmax 400 405 AgNPs. Zeta values −39.4 mV, while it −42.6 which indicates high stability biosynthesized nanoparticles. highest activity SARS-CoV-2. Dereplication secondary metabolites from crude resulted annotation different classes including phenolic, flavonoids, fatty acids, sesquiterpenes, triterpenes, sterols, others. docking able predict patterns interaction between seven protein targets five viral proteins (Mpro, ADP ribose phosphatase, NSP14, NSP16, PLpro) two humans (AAK1, Cathepsin L). dynamics simulation neohesperidin demonstrated both human AAK1 NSP16 protein, makes compound special interest as dual inhibitor. Overall, present provides promise Anti-SARS-CoV-2 AgNPs, could developed future into new drug.
